I heard that there were introduction monologues when firefly first aired, there were introductory monologues that introduced teh story. ive read about them but couldnt find them. i wanted to use them to introduce firefly to the scifi club at my school. I found an old FFF.net thread that meantions the site

http://versaphile.com/download/firefly.html

this has episodes with the original intros with books, and then mals monologues, and down at the bottom I found the original version of the pilot, the way joss would have shown it, and I has a third intro never aired on tv! this was firefly gold to me and a treasure to be shared. so download them all now, in case their server blows up or something and they are lost forever.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one, so I joined starfleet and was stationed at the SGC to fight the covenant, whos gate happens to be down, and through which I must cast the ring from whence it came. It was our last best hope for peace but it failed so millions of voices cried out and were suddenly silent but there was no spoon and also no fate but what we make for ourselves.

Might want to listen just a bit closer - there are actually two different Mal intros. Book only has the one.

MAL "You only gotta scare him."
JAYNE "Pain is scary..."

Whenever http://versaphile.com/download/firefly.html

comes up, I got to say thanks to her for hosting it for so long. As well as the Hornblower stuff.
THANK YOU!

Yes, they both are, though I don't know which are in what episodes.

I know the shorter Mal intro is in Ariel.

It is so unbelievably shiny to watch the original, unfoxed premiere. I just love fan trivia! This ranks right up there with reading the unproduced script...

If someone could let us know where the intros are I'd appreciate it. Dialup is hell. I can only download the ones I really, really need to hear. For the rest I have the DVD set....thanks.

I really, really wish I had caught those eps when they originally aired. SIGH.

Do teh SciFi re-aired eps have the intros?

"Do not go gentle into that good night....
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. . ."
--Dylan Thomas

Though my soul may set in darkness
It will rise in perfect light.
I have loved the stars too fondly
To be fearful of the night.

Yes, that's how I recorded them. There is a marathon the 18th (iirc) of this month on SciFi, so look out for them then.
