If printscreen doesn't work... why wouldn't it? ... you may have to go to a site like download.com and search for one.

May not be smart, and it may not please you, but you're definitely gonna see what I have to say.

Quote:Printscreen won't work because most PC DVD players use overlay surfaces. When you hit printscreen windows copies the contents of the screen buffer into the clipboard memory.

When you are using Overlays anywhere you want the overlay to appear is given a particular overlay colour (ussually *almost* black) which your graphics card replaces, or overlays, with the image/video frame stored in it's overlay buffer.
Basically although on the screen you see the DVD video the screen buffer just has a black panel, which is what is copied when you hit printscreen.
What most DVD playing software has is it's own capture option, that you can ussually find in it's menus. If you want video clips I can suggest DVD Shrink to get the clips then convert them with a free video converter, just do a search on google.
More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!

I use Windows Media Player. After pausing the scene I want I left click on the screen to "DVD features" and find "Capture Image". Right Click on this and a window opens to let you place the image where you want and give it a name. To use the image in this or other web site join Photobucket.com. You can't use images unless they come from the net. By using Photobucket they can place your images on the net and then you are free to use them like any others. There are instructions in this forum form posting picyures if you have not learned that already.
Hoping this helps

I use PowerDVD. Not sure if you can download it or not. (it came with my PC DVD player) This program's nice because all you have to do is hit play and press a designated key to capture the images while it's still playing.
