"Love. You can do all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air you
don't love, she'll shake you off sure as a turnin' of worlds. Love keeps her in
the air when she oughtta fall down. Tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens.
Makes her a home." Mal

That would be in the BDM? I never noticed that one!
Actually, has anyone spotted anything funny on any of Mr. Universe's many TV screens? I've always meant to check them out and see what's on them.
Yes, I am that obsessed.

In the BDM, when the Operative was looking at Mal's war record, didn't it list him as a Captain, but he was really a Sergeant, as stated in the BDS?

One of the screens shows the Blue Sun commerical as seen in the "Message" and then a lot of the screens show the old, 40s cartoon, " Max Fleischer's Superman". it's really cool to see.

I found this one on browncoats.com:

The Big Red Button established in Out of Gas is missing in one scene (Alan mentions in the commentary that had stolen it from the set after he thought they were done shooting, but had to go back the next day to shoot pickups and left the button at home. He later sent the button to Joss with a note that said "when your miracle gets here, pound this button and we'll all come back"...*sniff*)
Made me cry.

Hello Eldusto:
Some people think Mal was given the rank of an officer while he was in prison camp or just as he was mustered out. This gave him more pay so he could afford Serenity. I'm not sure if this conjecture or actual known fact.

That'd be weird if it happened. In the UK army in World War 2 at least, men tended to drop a rank when they retired rather than gain one.
I see it as making life easier for the people who weren't series fans. The sergeant vs. captain thing is only spelt out in the pilot episode and could be confusing to anyone who hadn't seen that for one reason or Foxother.
