Hi! I just got back from the Browncoats Ball,
a full (really full!) weekend of great fun:
Thursday night we saw 'Serenity' again a wonderful pizza parlor/movie theater in Oakland
Friday we did a Fanty & Mingo's style dinner/dance at the Empress of China
Saturday morning we had a whole boat to ourselves (with cash bar) for a tour of the bay
Saturday night was a truly spectacular ball with some original costumes from 'Heart of Gold' worn as well as some incredibly beautiful copies of other gowns from the Shindig (and the gentlemen all looked amazing too)
I've posted a lot of photos here:

I have to really thank all the organizers,
they couldn't have done a better job: everyone had a wonderful time!
can you believe this (winner best costume)

It was a fantastic weekend indeed. Kudos to the SF Browncoats for a job well done, and to all the wonderful folks who came and made it so much fun, especially Embers for the lovely dinner conversation (and for having a scythe in her car). I'd start naming names, but I'd forget someone and feel terrible. You're all cool!

Great photos Embers. Apparently I always have my mouth open.

yes when the parking valet brought my car up he was afraid that the scythe was real...
(I guess I should have given him a bigger tip, huh?)

I have to post another picture:

Thanks for posting the photos. Those are some BEAUTIFUL gowns! (And the men look good, too. But I'd rather wear the gowns.

Life is short, brutal, and unpredictable. EAT DESSERT FIRST.

I am part of the SF Browncoats and love the coordinators to death, but the thanks really go to Ray Hill and Ammy Hill. This entire bash was all them. They did a fabulous job and next year's BB organizers have quite the shoes to fill!

Those two were phenomenal from start to finish. They deserve a week in a nice, quiet spa. Major kudos to Adam for the graphic design (and usable map!) that made the whole package look classy.
