Objects In Space: The character of Early.
He was the deepest, most threatening, well-written, well-acted, three-dimensional villain I have ever seen and he gets killed off at the end of his first episode. Does that seem right to you?

This is very paraphrased...so please forgive:)
The end of War Stories where Mal is fighting with one of the henchmen. Jayne ( or Wash ) is about to shoot the bad guy, when Zoe says something like.. :" Don't. This is something he needs to do for himself." to which Mal replies - in mid fight - " No it ain't !! " Then Zoe goes .." Oh! ..." and they procced blow they bad guy away.
Yes!! That's the other one I was thinking of. Thanks.

What about when River's tearing pages out of the Bible--"Noah's Ark is a problem."
Killed me. Absolutely my most favorite line.
Well. Top ten, anyway.
AND please tell me you loved River spooking Badger. "Always nice to see someone from the home country." --"Not really. Call me when someone /interesting/ shows up."
And..."That was just the kind of diversion we coulda used."
I can't help it--I like the funny.
But Joss is right (duh)--visually stunning is also a big deal. The entire "Objects" episode could almost be watched with the sound off, as could "Out of Gas."

IMHO, I wouldn't count out a bounty hunter (or Joss).
Figure on a plan B or C. And: "Well, here I am" doesn't sound like the guy's terribly concerned by his predicament.

my fav bit is the scene in Safe were there's this group of people dancing and River wanders among them not really understanding it and then suddenly she gets this huge smile on her face and starts dancing too...
...and i love how this is then intercut with book being shot
I loved that part too, I felt like it was kind of saying that the fighting was also a sort of dance.

The third reason is a great deal more poetical. Terrorists can try to take our resolve, our strength, and those things and people we love. . .but they cannot and will not ever take away our sky, which has always been a universal symbol of hope. Which, incidentally, is why I am so proud to fly a gunship in this war. . .because I am quite literally protecting the sky. . .the symbol of hope. . .from those who would destroy hope.
Static, thank you for saying what I had forgotten. I am ex-AF (Avionics) and can understand were you are coming from.
Joss is right ... they can't take the sky away from us!
Shoot, this thread is beginnin' to make tear up like a gorram little slip of a gal!
Now I gotta go shoot sumtin'
to regain my manliness

My favorite moment is in Serenity when Mal, Zoe, and Jayne are returning from the job (on horses no less) and Simon is holding the Fed at gunpoint unsure of what to do. Mal comes in and shoots the guy straight away and Jayne and him throw him overboard. Simon just stands there while River backs away at the gun. That episode of Angel where Wesley shoots his father on the Rooftop reminded me of this and it was also just as moving. That one can kill so easily when others are threatened.
Keep flyin'
