I was watching Angel this morning on TNT before going to work and it was the episode where Wesley's dad shows up at Wolfram & Hart to offer Wesley a spot on the new Watcher's council. I've only seen the episode once, when it was aired new on the WB channel. I wasn't able to catch the last 20 minutes of the show and I remember Wesley killed his dad, but it was actually a robot. The thing that's eating my mind is I can't remember who sent the robot. Does someone rmember?

I do not think that question was ever answered. Wesley and Angel seem to decide that it was some group who did not like having Angel and company in charge of Wolfram and Hart but there is no specific name mentioned. The last 10 minutes or so were more geared toward helping Wes cope with the fact that he really thought he had killed his father.

Ok, I remember that now. Yeah, they never answered it and I forgot about it. Thanks for the quick reply.

I think they were just leaving that open as a storyline they could come back to in future seasons... then they didn't get any future seasons...

IIRC, somebody spotted a symbol on the robot that was later linked to the Circle of the Black Thorn. I assumed it was them, trying to eliminate Wes from Angel's circle.

We applied the cortical electrodes but were unable to get a neural reaction from either patient.

Circle of the Black Thorn? Who where they? I don't remember a lot about season 5, just some of the more important stuff that was key to the season, all of the small things I forgot about.

THey were very prominent in the final two episodes. Those were great episodes, I suggest you get a hold of them if you can.

Ok, that was that group of guys that they took out in the last episode, right?
I plan on getting all 5 seasons of Angel on DVD pretty soon, and all 7 seasons of Buffy, too.

Trying to eliminate Wes, or Angel? I thought robo-dad used the magical whatchamacallit he stole from Wes' safe on Angel after luring him to the roof? If he wanted to kill Wes, he could have when Wes was unconscious.

Ah, okay, my memory's gettin' all bendy.
Either way, it can be seen as part of their then-ongoing plan to do Bad Stuff to Angel.
