Ok - having seen Rose's list here now I think that Gina is my hot favourite - but I am thrilled at the thought of Carsima Carpenter - I had never thought of her as leading lady before, but she could seriously kick (as you put it) ass! She can be beautiful, sultry and really strong at the same time... yeah - I'm liking the idea more n more... good work PR!

Halle Berry didn't exactly have that whole "shiong-tsan sha-sho" thing like Gina!

Or the acting talent, or the screen presence, or the willingness to not have it be a "star vehicle."

To wit, she (and her people) probably wouldn't be telling Joss what to write, as Halle Berry's handlers were apparently doing to John Rogers.

See, I thought cat woman was black, it was catwoman (from batman) who was white, and this was a different cat woman from a different comic. But I'm not a huge comic fan, really, so I'm probably wrong about that.
And most people seemed more upset by the story and/or attitude of the character than her skin color. But that's just from what I saw.

I never saw Catwoman. But I knew people who refered to it as 'softcore porn'. Hence, why I didn't see it.

I know, eh, I think we all know Joss can do way, way better.

Had those people ever actually seen softcore porn? I mean, there was a bit more skin than maybe absolutely necessary(especially after the leather got all shredded somehow) but it wasn't porn. Porn involves sex and actual nekkidness. Sheesh.

Morena, gladly - Gina, no. The source material should be respected, not changed on a whim because it's the progressive (and attention-grabbing) thing to do.

I always thought that Sandra Bullock would have made a great WW, but I think it might be a little late for that... who knows with all that botox now though.

I didn't think you were but the movie is about Wonder Woman, not her sister. I don't know if William Moulton Marston was a bigot but that's not the issue and it doesn't change the image fans have of his creation, in either case. The argument that she should be black because her sister was doesn't hold water - one might as well claim the opposite.

Not really considering that dark skin is dominant. Same with dark eyes; it just comes out in the genes. I should know; everyone in my family has light skin, hair and eyes except my half-brother, because his father had very dark eyes and hair. So the opposite could not be argued if you're going to be logical about it. Sorry.
Also being logical about it, an "Amazon" would be from the Amazon area. Duh. And those who live by the Amazon tend to have what? Dark skin, that's right. Let's use our brains instead of our knee-jerk and/or nostalgia. I love Wonder Woman growning up and yet I have no objection to her being black, even if most of my picks are white.
If you don't think Gina has the chops to do it, that's fine, but don't discount her simply because of her skin.
