I haven't been around for a while, so I'm not sure if this has been posted yet. In case not, here is a link to a geeky HD website (that my husband goes to) talking about Firefly coming out on the HD channel run by Paramount.

Starts September 24th.

We will definitely be checking it out!!

yes!!! i just saw the commercial on Saturday for Universal HDTV. (guess I was a little late)

Firefly will air every Sunday at 7pm and 12am. The series began on September 24th with Serenity Part 1 & 2. You can check out

I saw that Serenity is out on HD DVD, does anyone know if we can expect to see Firefly the series appear on HD DVD?

I don't have a HD DVD player yet, but hope to own one soon, and as soon as I do I'll be purchasing Serenity on HD DVD.

Unfortunately Fox (who made Firefly) are currently solely devoted to BluRay. This may change in the future but at the moment, it looks likely that if Firefly does appear, it will be on BluRay, thus splitting the franchise.

Bah.

That is unfortunate. How is it that Universal has the rights to show Firefly in HD, but doesn't have the rights make the DVDs. Tis a shame that the Firefly verse is split between two companies. Thanks for the info.

Just great!
Just finished watching "War Stories" on Universal HD. With the promo and recaps by Mal and a shiny golden Firefly blaze of the ship Serenity at the end (similar to the firefly logo at the beginning).

I would be great to have all these episodes (and the promos and recaps et all) as a HD-DVD set.

Hope other Browncoats have had the opportunity to watch these Universal HD broadcasts and have gone to their website

I don't really care if Firefly is released on Blu-ray or HD just as long as they release it in high resolution reasonably soon.
