Alright, there's two possibilities. Either keep your mouth shut once you get back, pretend you haven't been gone for (insert however much time passed between Three Hills and the present), or tell them everything that's happened, including the offer. Use the info you have to help them out.

Simon fully tested John and turned confused at the results. John sturred and jolted up suddenly.
"Way to go John another stupid move by you" John said to himself
Simon turned around as John climbed off of the examining table.
"You suffered no phsyical injuries just serious mental trauma"
"Can I go now"
"What caused such trauma"
"Grenades" John leaped of the table and turned to Kaylee. "How is she"
"Fine I gave her stiches and she should wake up soon"
John turned and walked toward the door. "You should tell her" Her turned and skipped away.
WOW Kaylee can operate the ship while unconcious she really is a darn fine maechanic

And ya, I wondered how we were gonna pull off hard burn with Kaylee and John both down...Maybe Shepherd Book was in the Engine room? Yah, that's it!
Ertia sighed as she stripped off her suit and shoved it back into the closet. Wrapping both arms around Pain she hugged him close. "Pain, if Wolf's right, they aren't going to stop coming. There's only one way to end this."
"We aren't turning over Mal." Pain assured her, but she looked up at him with crystal clarity in her eyes.
"We have to kill Niska. We should have done it the last time, but we didn't. One way to end this now, to set Wolf free and get past this... and that's to kill him."
Zoe's calm voice spoke behind her. "And how are we gonna do that? We're outgunned, outnumbered. Even if we call in every favor we have left, we're still just a single bullet compared to his battalion."
"I dunno." Ertia shrugged, "But we're smart. We're resourceful. We've survived this long, and not by running."
"We need to make a stand." Zoe said the words slowly, still mulling the possibility even as she affirmed it.
"We'll get to John's brothers, let Mal heal. Then we find a way to stop them." Pain agreed, although his eyes, too, held uncertainty.
"Not stop them. Kill HIM. Once and for all." Ertia reiterates, wondering when she stopped being the pacifist and started becoming the killer. Just today her plan had taken how many lives?
Quietly, she sighs, "Anybody see Shepherd Book?" Silently she added, 'I could use a prayer.'

You could see if'n he's in his room. That's where he usually is. If'n not then he'd probably be in the galley.

No worries, Choo. It was in the second post of this thread... s'okay. Got it covered. Kaylee never actually answered Wash...so we don't know that it was her who set full burn...
"Thanks, Babe. But it's not that big of a ship. I'll find him." She gave his hand a squeeze before turning and making her way through the ship. Every step seemed to drag her down, and it was more than just her recent head injury, or the draining of the adrenalin from their latest escape.
Shepherd wasn't in his room. Nor was he in the Galley. She was just about to call him over the com, worried that he'd somehow been in the cargo bay and gotten sucked out, when she heard a distinct clank from the engine room.
If Kaylee and John were in the infirmary...then who was in... WOLF... If he was screwin' with their engine she was gonna take him out!
Dropping into Pain's bunk, she accessed the hidden panel and pulled out her laser pistol. Half-charge. That was plenty.
Turning sidewise, she edged down the corridor towards the engine room door. Another clank, a rasp of metal... She held her pistol in both hands and spun into the doorway, leveling her gun, "DROP IT!"
"I don't think I should I do that." Book's calm voice answered her. In his hands was the directional capacitor. "These tend to be delicate."
"Shepherd?" Ertia lowered her pistol, stunned. "What are you..."
"Oh, I know a thing or two about engines." He explained in that calm, reasonably cheerful tone. "I thought with Kaylee injured, I could at least do what I know how to do."
He settled the capacitor in place and locked it down, neatly reattaching wiring and closing the hatch. "There. Now, what can I do for you?"
"Shepherd...I ..." There was a long silence as she gathered her thoughts. Then she shut down her pistol and dropped it onto Kaylee's toolbox before falling to her knees beside the hammock. "Forgive me, father, for I have sinned."

Choo put the AK back in his bag. Hadn't used it in a while, but still running after nearly 30 years...
