It's very different here. Much more cultural diversity. Still, of course, not as much as you'd get in some other places, but it is a move in the right direction.

haha! Y'all should see where I live! I think my university was voted the Least Diverse University in the U.S. Pretty sad!

Where do you go?
My college had more international students than african american students. But we had a large Korean population. Only, they all moved as a herd, it was hard to get to know any of them.

Are you ready for this? I go to... the University of Utah.
It's kinda pathetic how caucasian our campus is. But I love that the University is pretty liberal. Everyone seems to be pretty open minded and most students seem to have experienced some kind of culture outside of the Salt Lake Valley (which is, admittedly, quite unique).
So, all in all, it could be much worse. *shudders at the thought of BYU*

Even if U of U is 99% causcasian, at least it's a good school!

the college i went to was something like 91% male, and I think even that is being generous, haha.
my area is mostly white (
) folk, with american indians next and only a sprinkling of black or hispanic people.

Haha! Yeah. You know, BYU is a great school, I'm sure, and I can't bag on it too much because I have friends that go there, and it does promote/harbor/foster the religion to which I belong.(oh, hopefully you all won't stop talking to me now that you know my religious affiliation--not that I think you're shallow enough to do that, but it is a tetchy subject.)
It doesn't help me very much BYU has an excellent Art History program while the U of U emphasizes the sciences. But, I do LOVE the University of Utah. They have some amazing programs. They are *puffs her chest for the boast* one of the 50 Research 1 Universities in the United States. They were the home of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games opening and closing ceremonies, as well as home to the torch. Their fine arts program is growing (good news for me!!). It's a beautiful campus, too, with a fantastic view of the city and the mountains. That's all I can really think of off the top of my head, but I KNOW there are more.

Haha, oh, no worries. I would never apologize for belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. NEVER! You're absolutley right, it is part of who I am. However, there is another, more appropriate thread in which this rather delicate subject of religious beliefs and religion has been discussed and I will let things lie where they are.
You're right, the ONE reason why I'm here at all is because I absolutely LOVE Firefly. That's all anyone else in this forum need care about.
OKAY, as for easier topics... 38 days!!! and counting, but that's not necessarily an easier topic.
School starts for me NEXT WEDNESDAY!! Can you believe that?! I had 18 days from my last summer semester final until the first day of fall semester. Some summer break!
