Thank you for this thread and for all the shiny thoughts.I'm brand new to this site and got ambushed by trolls on my first post.As I move around through the various threads I can see that there are good people here and I needn't take such cheap shots as typical.

GorramMalContent, welcome home.. we really are a friendly place full of very nice people I hope you will continue to see. We seem to have a bad apple among the bunch determined to spread their discontent with their life throughout the site.
Please ignore them and join the rest of us in loving the 'verse.
This is usually a tight ship with all kinds of interesting folks to get to know and to talk about Firefly and joining the cause for more Firefly/Serenity. We're glad to have you aboard and hope you will not judge the rest of us by the one person. 
New folks always get their very own browncoat.. can't have a new recruit without their gear.. so

How did you get introduced to Firefly/Serenity? Please tell us, we love to hear all about it and share in the joy. 
Also, please join us in the many things we're doing to try and bring Firefly/Serenity back and also to have fun. Have you checked to see if you have a local group of Browncoats to join?

But.. we truly can't have you wandering the ship without your gear.... of course, just cuz you have a browncoat doesn't mean you have to wear it all the time.. I my ownself am lacking the garment today.. as it's 90 degrees here! But you must have one.. you're one of us now.

I did post my intro on one of the Introduce yourself threads but I cannot find it at the moment. It seems like every time I look for a thread I was following and it falls off the current list I cannot go to the Archived files. I catch a cannot display error.
So here goes again....
I saw my first Advertisement for Firefly during the last season of Buffy. I remember thinking to myself "a Sci-Fi Western? How weird." So I caught the first episode, mainly because I had grown to love Joss's work. I was hooked from the first minute!
I watched every episode. I was angry when it was taken out of rotation for baseball? I think. But it came back. I was not on the net much back then and did not realize that it had gotten pulled. Then as I watched (Hurley?) drift off into space and they had no "Next Time On Firefly" afterwards I thought it had got bumped again for another sports event. The next week it was not on and something else was. I was crushed because I knew what had happened.
I had pretty much supressed the memories of the show like a bad childhood when I saw a Preview of the BDM and the memories flooded back. I saw the BDM opening day, First showing and a few more times after. I got the BDM for X-mas and just recently bought the series. I have been watching all ever since.
I was looking around for more FF stuff when I located this site and read around for a few days. It was good to know that I was not alone and I haven't looked back since!

You wwill find that you can not search the archives for Gen Dis, but you may be able on the others.
You can seach google for the thread and I find that if I save notifications in a folder, I always have that link for later
