I love the "bastard" line, but the one that did it for me was,
"You wanna meet the real me, now?"
Because it sums up Mal SO well. This is a man who isn't empty on the inside - he's full of emotions that he refuses to show. He went from being an idealistic person, to a man who is bitter and cynical and just tired of fighting...he's willing to just get by. That moment, in my opinion, is the closest we come to seeing all of Mal's anger and resentment coming to the surface. We finally see what he is truly capable of, and it's a little scary. Alan Tudyk owned that episode, but Nathan Fillion brought so much to it with just that line.

Yet another of my favorites too!
That is a GOTCHA moment, not a surprise/shock but a great scene or delevery of a line that invokes a strong feeling in a person just by watching it.
Keep this up and then somebody should find a way to get Joss or somebody from Mutant Enemy to read this thread ... just another show of support, I suppose. But sometime a person needs that!

The end of War Stories where Mal is fighting with one of the henchmen. Jayne ( or Wash ) is about to shoot the bad guy, when Zoe says something like.. :" Don't. This is something he needs to do for himself." to which Mal replies - in mid fight - " No it ain't !! " Then Zoe goes .." Oh! ..." and they procced blow they bad guy away.

Gotcha 1: OOG, after they talk about their "genius mechanic", then in the next moment, finding out that it ain't Kaylee...
Gotcha 2: "The Message," when Simon cuts into the dead guy and he wakes up screaming...
Woohoo!: Safe. "Big Damn Heroes, sir!"
Cliche-buster: OIS Book walkin' in just as Simon and Kaylee are quite obviously about to get caught up in the moment, with good but cliche'd effects...
And Perfection: OIS Jubel Early describing the midget.
"What'd he do?"
"Who?"
"The midget."
"Oh, arson."
Even better if you know the history behind the name Jubel Early...
"Bye now. Have good sex!"

I'm suprised no one's mentioned the single funniest moment in the entire series: In "Objects in Space" when River is talking over the intercom. Everyone wakes up...even Jayne rolls over and removes the blanket covering his guns. Unfortunately, he turns over and goes back to sleep. Yes, I peed myself a little after that one.
Also..."I'll be in my bunk" from War Stories.

I'm surprised it's not mentioned more, but I loved when Crow had the whole big speech about hunting them down and his knife. Then Mal says "Darn" and kicks him into the engine. Priceless.
