My two cents,...I started at 22 and have smoked for over 30 years.(God,am I THAT old?)I don't drink, don't smoke cigaretts, and don't drive stoned. I do not see any affect on me or my brain,....latest IQ test said 131, so I guess the brain is still holding. Like all 'party goods', use in moderation, and at home, I know not every one should smoke,....but for me its the greatest thing on the planet,....where are my Oreo's?? ...and milk, I need milk

...it's worst than you know...Operative
...it usually is.....Mal

Thanks Citizen for the input.
I have to correct myself a little. To say THC is as dangerous as other legal drugs may be wrong. But only in certain populations.
Not tryin' to yank your chain 'cause you are miles ahead of me in the brainpan. Not to mention I think if given the chance you could argue even the pope outta the papacy.
I just wonder where you're coming from. Are you a minority? And from what minority groups?
Combine any number of people's minority groups.
They are the majority.
I had compiled a list of arguments and observations directly from experience, but most are wasted on paranoid and clouded ears.
One point I'd like to make. Studies, no matter where they come from, will always be wrong on this subject. There are so many variations of Marijuana that an accurate study will probably never be done. Pot is no longer natural. Its been bred and altered "naturally" so many times that there possibly no way to ever get it back in its natural state.
Just concerned for the well being of my fellow 'coats. Though it has been stated THC is non-addictive, see it from my shoes. As a human service worker for a "minority" group, as with many other workers from other groups, we are on the frontline of the new world. From what the children are telling us, We're headed down a bad road. Just think about your kids.
(Sorry, sounded like Mr. T for a sec.)
Love y'all.

One of the funniest movie quotes I’ve heard was from Jackie Brown...

The Samuel L. Jackson character (Ordell) tells the Bridget Fonda character (Mel)
“Damn girl, it’s 8 0’clock in the morning and you already getting high…. All you do is smoke and watch TV. That shit’s gonna ruin your ambition..”

Mel replies:
“Not if your ambition is to get high and watch TV…”

An old friend visited me about a year ago. He wanted to borrow ten bucks from me. I knew what it was for so I said no. He started to cry. Like a baby.

I won't describe what he looked like or what his clothes were like. Just say he matched the gutter he was probably living in.

I've gone to more than one funeral involving drugs. Not pretty. They do a fair job of covering the exit wounds to the back of the head.

I've been there. I got out. God it was the hardest thing I ever did. I've seen more lost souls than I ever would want to count.

One was my father. He lost his work, his family and then his life. He was 58.

Ever visit a mental hospital? I have. Do you know why most people are there? I do.
Drugs. You don't beleave me. Go visit one. Talk to some doctors while your there.

I have on more than one occasion taken somebody to a hospital to be treated for this disease called addiction. These are things you learn to do in AA. Holding people so the know their alive.
Sitting up with somebody and just talking nonsense untill the urge is gone and the can finally go to sleep. You do it because they did it for you. I don't like losing friends to this shit. I'm tired of it. You learn what it is like to be locked up. You learn how to make coffee. You learn how to listen if it takes all night.
You learn to stay sober one day at a time.

Alcohol and pot take years. They are very patient. They aren't worried about time. Coke and crack are greedy they want your life right now. That's about the only difference. The end is the same.

Citizen

To say it isn't additive is not true - it can be psychologically addictive, and to say it isn't harmful is also untrue. Smoking it for 20 years caused my brothers brain to stop making serotonin. As a result he is on antidepressant now and will be for the rest of his life.

Bottom line, anything you inhale into your lungs that isn't oxygen - is harmful.

But on a non-serious note - I am not sure we want to encourage pot smokers to embrace the verse. Got nothin against pot smokers, but imagine their distress when they day comes when they have to choose purchasing a nifty firefly bit o memorabilia - or a dime bag! What Horror!

We are The Forsaken - We aim to burn! and we don't need no stinkin levels!
