I felt old yesterday when a new coworker said she was interested in photography, she used her dad's antique camera, her dad bought the camera right before she was born, in 1981!
I graduated from high school in 1984!

And I work at a university, every year the incoming students seem younger and younger.

*sigh*

Now, now, FMF! Remember that mercy is the mark of a great man.
*PaganPaul kicks MonksDad in the ribs*
Maybe I'm just a good man.
*Kicks MonksDad again*
Well, I'm alright.

And you especially enjoyed when they rolled down when the girls dared to breathe, right?

For the record, I visited the Smithsonian last month and was wandering around their "History of Computers" exhibit. Along with a big old main-frame computer, they had a huge deck of punched cards and a textbook on FORTRAN on diplay.

Yep, it was the same textbook I used in college.

My sister had a computer course in high school...Yeah the ones with the punch cards. She broke it. She typed in that it's mother wore combat boots. I kid you not.

I took programming courses in BASIC in the early 80's.

When my kids (students, I'm a teacher) act superised that I play video games and then look at me quizzically(sp?) when I tell them that I started out with a pong machine, an IBM PC Jr., and an Atari 2600. The usual response I get is "What's Atari?"

Well, there's another gray hair from the kids ::shrug::

Full House re-runs. Of course, I'm not really old (under 18); but, I remember when I was five, and my mom called the WB about Full House because it hadn't come on one day, and they told me it was cancelled. I was heartbroken.

Forgive me, for I am new.

LOL! Sorry, YinYang, but you don't get to talk about feeling old for about another 20 years.

Just the fact that my college degree is older than you are makes me feel old.

Just the fact that I'd started my SECOND career before you were born makes me feel old.

Wait until you hit 40 or so, and then we can talk...

Had to respond to this one. Other than my oldest son graduates from high school this year, and my youngest will be driving soon...

I went into McDonald's awhile back, and on a whim ordered a box of McDonaldland cookies. The punk with the nose ring informed me that "Cookies come in bags. They've never come in boxes"

He's lucky he survived....

Lets ee now:
Saw Raiders in the theater. Had no clue it was that long ago.

Loved watching Hart to Hart, Rockford files, Bonanza, Little House, Have gun Will Travel. Though mostly in reruns, They still looked good to me.

Eighties music on oldies station. Talk about BS.

Still say "And knowing is half the battle". I'm such a dork.

Can't stand the fact all these retard little kids think that cars weren't fast before The Fast And the Furious. They never rode in a car that didn't come from the factory with seat belts, air bags, and a radio and could easily push 140 without a bottle. Time to call out the old timers and their rusty rods to show 'em all whats up.

River6213- I don't get all the flak you get and I'm twice as cynical as you. Folks must really have a hard time taking good hearted sarcasm. Just don't get it. Think I'll go dust off some vinyl to try and reach the mindset of yesteryear.
And in my neck of the woods, if you were dressed as stated was the "fashion" in the sixties, you might make it home breathing with one testicle.
Thats pretty bad considering Natives are fairly accepting of folks with eccetricities. The whole world didn't revolve around fashion and what was "in". Who cares what band you saw or who you hung out with nearly forty years ago. I give two s^*ts if you thought you were cool back then. Geezer really got me fired up. Thanks River for bein' around to draw out his true side. I think that may be your special power. Helping people show their true insecurities.
This is why I both love you and fear you. You are on the hero list.

Realizing that the girls that I date wear panties that are 300% larger than the average pair at Victoria's secret.
