Don't cast a spell to make him weak - cast one to make yourself strong! Don't waste time putting curses on him, instead put charms on yourself. Want him to loose in court? Cast a spell so that you will win instead. I guarantee, it's about 1,000 times more effective that way.
If you still wish to "cause him harm" (which is against every principle I've ever been taught) there are ways of doing that too, but always remember the Three-fold Law:
Ever mind the Rule of Three
Three times what thou givest returns to thee
This lesson well, thou must learn
Thee only gets what thou dost earn!
In short, if you cast a spell to manipulate someone else, you will leave yourself susceptable to other people manipulating you. If you cast to hurt someone, you will be hurt three times worse. That's just the way these things work...
