yeah, you think so? Google clocked that trip at nearly 6 hrs, where the other site clocked the A331ish trip at 4.5 hrs.

I know estimated times really don't mean all that much.

Hmm dunno, looking at the RAC route planner going from my house to Penzance is about 6h 53m by motorway 7h 17m no motorway.

The problem with A roads is that anyone can drive on them though, tractors and the like, and they vary between two lane and one lane sections.

Motorways are at least three lane and no slow moving traffic to hold you up. My Dad's going on holiday to Cornwall in a few weeks for a holiday, and he travels there fairly often, so I'll ask him if he can furnish me with what he thinks is the best route.

thank you. I'd appreciate that.

And I don't have to go all the way to Penzance (I wish! I love that musical.) Just to Tintagel.

Okay my dad says M4-M5-A30. He says its faster (since apparently there's a lot of single lane and cameras along the A-routes) and easier.

Okay, if your dad says so, I believe him!

Well it's the route he'll be taking. So if he's wrong you can take solace that you're wrong together

that is not much solace.

Question: where does your dad live? You said it takes him 6 hrs to get to Cornwall?

So how far is Croyden to Heathrow? And how far is Tintagel from Penzance?

And how I did I get myself talked into a trip to Cornwall in the first place?
