well, thank you.
like Seryn, I could point out every single little mistake, flaw and "I could have done that better", but I'm not going to and just bask in a job done.

well, you'll be very very pleased to kknow that i got your letter!
the second one, seems like global priority or whatever its called it the way to go!
I've been very bad and not done anything today, I have that interview tomorrow, so i've been preparing for that.
But, trims purchased and waiting to go on, I looked at the bindings, but their satin range is crap, so i'm going to the larger store at some point.
I did have something else to say. What was it? oh, i'm tired, need to sleep. The top looks fantastic by the way!
As for the triangle inserts, what you said seems the wisest course of action, so i'll do that. Like i said, i think in the original, they were simply whipstitched in after the fact.
Tristan, its been said before, but the boots really are, for want of a better word, perfect.
see, i thought that the seam was something you had to do, but its actually a design feature They are a perfect facsimile - 'cept you need to put yours on and go roll about in the dirt for a bit.
They're to cleen - gotta give em that beat up old faithfuls look.
My mother listened in horror today when i told her how i planned to start rubbing soap and grapite powders and salt water etc into my pirate stuff, on top of scraping them about and stretching the pockets - I tried to explain that pirates didn't do dry cleaning, but she wouldn't have it.
Ah well.

What do you think of the colours? Is it going to work?
You and I are going to be funny piratical sisters, Seryn. You all grungy and, well, piratey. Me, pretendin' to be a lady and givin' meself airs above me station.

Yeah, sorry. I think I started that.
No new updates for me. Last night I got a bit lazy and watched The Village on cable and knit Jayne hats instead. The only thing I did was make a head scarf for Mai to match her costume and sewed a snap onto my pink chinese blouse because the toggles don't like to stay...toggled..and it's not appropriate for me to be flashing people at work.
And that's it. Must order more yarn today as I'm nearly completely out of wool.

Only updates I have are that I started on the second Browncoat last night...I'm about 1/4 the way through it. I still have to finish the DPR headpiece/mask thingy and then focus on the wife's stuff.
Flashing people at work wouldn't be so bad, would it?

well, i worked out what the problem with the sewing of the bone channels was - ME.
yup, tryin to be all fancy and high falutin and usin all the correct presser feet and what not. when i just used the normal foot and made a little mark on it where the previous line of stitching had to run, then i got neater channels with less gathering and puckering and in half the bleedin time.
I am very glad tha i discovered this BEFORE i did most of the thing. the messy bit is confined to the stomacher wich is going to be covered over with braid and laces and the outside is as neat as a pin.
I'm happy!
My interview went well - after all this prep and notes reminding myself to tell them how intelligent sensible and reliable i am, what got the best reaction was my total and utter disregard for actorly airs and graces.
Question like 'do you think this is a glamorous field to work in?'
'if a high profile actor was talking loudly on his mobile, and you were unable to hear a customer and it was annoying them, what would you do?'
The answers i gave were 'hell no! - about 99% toil to be honest ' and 'very politely apologies, put the customer on silent then tell the actor that if they can't be quiet then they should go elsewhare' got big grins. They also asked about 'what i would do with the personal information i overheard' (nothing! really, whatever you hear, it's never as interesting as they think it is) and that got a good reaction, so hopefully...
And the fabrics are lovely Serenity - they all coordinate beutifully - they didn't have a great selection of bindings at my local store, so hopefully soon i'll get to the large liverpool store, and get a good colour. I just have to get the bone channels out of the way, thats the biggest job, and the most annoying, but afterthat, the end is very near.
And i cant turn my attention to the slinky dress.
