Reading the Firefly reviews at Amazon is a great way to lift your spirits and it is great to see so many five star ratings, it is almost impossible to find somebody who gives it less than five stars.

hope you dont mind me turning this into a statistic, but check out the number of reviews that arent 5:

11x 1 star, with 2 that obviously forgot to check the right number of stars (i'll simply assume that from the reviews going like "wow, greatest show ever", "damn fox to hell for cancelling it" ,-) )

so:
9x 1 star
5x 2 stars (one because its not widescreen, which is either wrong or a first edition i havent heard of)..
lets judge the show and not the dvd (as his point doesnt apply anyway)
9x 1
4x 2
4x 3
23x 4 (with a couple not being happy with the dvd rather than firefly.. lets round down to 20)

09x 1
04x 2
04x 3
20x 4
with 751 reviews at that time it would mean
711x 5 (excuse me if i wont go read them all)
3x unknown (but according to the review itself a good rating)

so
94.67%: 5
2.66%: 4
.53%: 3
.53%: 2
1.19%: 1

all that and sales rank 24 (2 days ago it was 45)

how much better could a dvd do? especially when its a show that was far too short lived and unknown.

im working on my little conspiracy theory to explain the decisions of fox considering good shows. something like: buy them so the others cant steal our viewers, then sabotage them to have a good excuse to cancel them.
