Oh my God, such a difficult question!

If we're going purely by looks, then Sean win's prettiest male, because... he's just plain beautiful.

Nathan and Alan rank second together, Adam comes fourth, Ron comes in last even though he is incredibly attractive for a man his age (at least, in the movie he is, in the series not quite so).

Girls?
Just by looks Gina.
Morena and Summer come in second.
Jewel third.

Of course, this list would look very different if it were the characters or if personality was to be considered.

But, but, but...I really only know who Mal is. I know very little about Nathan. Only what I've read or the tiny bits of character you get revealed in interviews, commentaries etc. He seems nice and I love how he expresses his emotion for Firefly/Serenity...but that's not a lot to go on.

And just to be REAL HONEST here, let's just say that I didn't think Nathan was all that cute until he played Mal. Kinda cute as Johnny, almost grotesque as Caleb (met Caleb before Mal) and average in that bit in Saving Private Ryan.

Thus, Mal over Nathan.

Understandable. It's just that if Mal is gonna put me through what he put Inara through, I think I'll pass. Not saying it was all his fault (Inara certainly brings her own issues to the table), but jeepers cripes, that man is hard to deal with. If he didn't inspire such loyalty in his crew, I think they would have headed for the hills a long time ago.

Be fair now. An equal part of that dance was Inara. It was Mal who was going to declare feelings first (Heart of Gold) and Inara cut him off and told him she was leaving. IMO, it was always Inara who kept Mal at a distance, not the other way around.

I do acknowledge that Inara has her own set of problems, and that she contributed a great deal to the difficulties between her and Mal. It's just that Mal can be a really hard person to talk to. I don't know many women that would relish being called a whore constantly (whether they fit the term or not). Mal is a very stubborn man, and while that can be a useful quality, it can be a irrtating deterrent to forming a realtionship.
