Hi, everyone! I was recommended to check out this site by someone and I love it! Let me explain why I'm here...I'm a teacher and I have the summer off. I was at the video store looking to get into some stuff I had been meaning to check out for a while, and Firefly was one of them. I brought the first disc home...and four hours later I was back in my car to get the other three discs in the series. I pulled an all-nighter and even though I was extremely bleary-eyed and completely useless the next day, an obsessive fan was born.

Truly. I was amazed at the writing and the characterizations. I was hooked by the setting and the way the stories were played out with the amazing cast. I am hooked. I bought the series the next day, watched it again, went out and bought the movie, then logged on and bought two books about it. I am hooked.

Just thought I'd introduce myself...most of my friends haven't even heard of the series and despite my best efforts, they are not rushing out to watch it. I'm sure they'll get to it eventually, like I did (the poor suckers) but until then, it's nice knowing there's a whole community of people that know exactly how beautiful this show was. I've also read some of the fan-fics and they are quite good. Anyway, like I said, just wanted to say hello! I look forward to posting my two-cents every now and then!

Anyway, i hope you love it here. FollowMal will be here to give you your virtual browncoat.

In the meantime, have a mug of mudder's milk (available in non-alcoholic if you wish) and eat some strawberries and apples (sans grenades).

hello there! its always cool to see new fans coming in here. I am also new to this place and the awesome 'verse of Firefly. You'll like it here and will probably get addicted and check the site like 20 times a day, but its all good. Most of the people here are very nice and open-minded but there are some that I think come here to just to make fun and start small trouble. but other than that, its pretty cool and the fanfic is pretty decent. hope you like it here! see you on the boards!

Snoops, I agree with you. I've been in the black until a day ago. I borrowed Serenity from a friend and then went out and bought it only 10 hours later. I keep watching it over and over again and love it. I ordered the Firefly DVDs from Amazon yesterday. Can't wait to get'em.

People seem to worry bout others joining the cause. I don't think that there is much to worry about. This show sells itself.

I look forward to reading more of everyone's thoughts. I'll share my own when I can. Take care all!

I also joined up just a month ago. Some friends raved about the show and now I've bought the show, the movie (twice, first time Fullscreen, yuck!) and the Those Left Behind comic. I'm actively recruiting by passing on Serenity and lending the disks. As we all know, to see is to love.

I'm thrilled at how tolerant the Original Browncoats are to the new recruits. The fanbase keeps getting bigger.

O.k. I'm just a good man. Well, I'm all right.
