Ive contacted the vidders who I think have VERY good video's on Youtube with an invitation to this thread. Thanks to all who are looking here! I hope you find this a friendly community. Why dont all the nice fff.net people say a quick hello?

Hey interesting idea,never made a trailor before sounds like fun Im in ^.^ tho i dont have any of teh episodes just the movie, Is it cool if i use the movie clips or is it just episodes?

The contest is for episode trailers (there are 14 separate episodes) and/or a trailer showcasing the series.

Wouldn't the "Best None of the Above" category include movie clips? I did the Return to Serenity trailer on youtube () which includes both episode and movie clips (as well as non-Firefly clips, for added flavour) and was led to believe on another thread I could enter it in the contest. I'm also working on a longer trailer which I might enter instead.
Also, is there one winner in each category? One overall winner? Thanks.

The vidder who mentioned the movie clips intimated that they did not have episode clips at all, and was doing a movie trailer only.
Kayna mentioned doing character studies, DopeyName101 is interested in doing a 'verse trailer with clips from both the series and the movie. Both are eligible for the "None of the Above" category, which will be renamed to something funner by this weekend.
As it stands now, there will be three or four categories.
Best Series Trailer
Best Episode Trailer
Best None of the Above [insert new name here]
DopeyName101 had suggested it be called "Viewers Choice" or some such.
In my shiny mind I hoped to have a vidder enter all 14 episodes as a creative "catalog" entry. If we have entrants in that vein, there will be a trophy for Best Episode Explosion, or some such.
Does this help clarify? Additional thoughts?

When it comes to making Music videos or trailers, it is very difficult to set strict rules. As many people use many different video applications, have different episodes available to them, and have varying experience. As you have already read my video theory from another thread (You’re probably the only one), these videos are about telling a story, and so it is important that the artist chose whichever footage helps to tell that story.
P.S. I’m done. I think I used four or five episodes.

Deadline is August 31st, right?
That should leave me enough time to get my ruttin' Mac display fixed up. Stupid thing's on the fritz, kinda like the backlight's dying on it.
