I am totally serious. I've just been on a site that researches them, www.snopes.com, and it talks about how prevalient they are.
We need a good Urban Legend for Firefly and/or Serenity. A truth, a half-truth, an embroidered truth, and all-out falsehood; something that will catch the attention of the public and can be e-mailed from person to person.
Ideas?

I mean things that people outside the fandom will be morbidly fascinated with. Something that will give them the overwhelming urge to go out and buy the DVD's just to see if it's really true

You mean like the subliminal image inserted into one of the later episodes that consists of 1 frame with the entire crew standing directly facing the camera stark raving naked. I don't remember which scene it is so people will have to watch them all in frame advance mode to spot it.

Hey, this one is true: the scene she filmed was deliberately filmed so she could be easily replaced with a minimum of re-shooting.
