Man, not only did I forget the Rocketeer, but I forgot The Shadow, and Dick Tracy for that matter. Both were campy as hell, but considering the source material, that's exactly how they should have been.

I don't recall a movie, but there was a Flash TV series in the 90s, with John Wesley Shipp as the speedster. Quite good, even if it was the Barry Allen version.

Loved that show as a kid. Recently got the DVD, and although it's overall not as good as I remember, the use of technology was pretty good.

There's a new movie currently in development, written and likely to be directed by David Goyer (the guy behing Blade and Batman Begins). Ryan Reynolds is likely going to play Wally West. Goyer has said that both Wally and Barry will be in it.

Oh, and Batman Begins is the best superhero movie ever.

Ah, okay. Hadn't heard (distracted by the TF movie, the potentially-upcoming potentially-Star Trek movie, and Wonder Woman).

Not really looking foward to the Wonder Woman movie. There is a time and place for certain characters, and I think her boat sailed in the 70s. As far as a Flash, Thor, or Captain America movie (all announced with Goyer at the helm), I'm not sure they are viable heroes now. It'd be like making a Silver Surfer or Nick Fury flick.

I agree with Spiderman 2 being the best superhero movie ever. Best character development ever, best special effects, best acting, just incredibly incredible overall Speaking of incredible...The Incredibles was quite the amazing superhero movie, even it was just a cartoon. It had a great plot, hi-larious humor, and wonderful animation. Also, I don't know if this is a superhero movie, but at least it is comic book related, I thought Sin City was one of the best adaptations of a comic book that I've seen. The characters are hero-esque. That's my 2 cents anyway.

I seriously disagree with this. I compare the Wonder Woman TV show of the 70s to The Batman show of the 60s. Both were campy, but look what happened to Batman! 5 or 6 movies with the last being the best. One can now see Batman as a serious hero. This could happen for Wonder Woman, and like I said in an earlier post. Unlike Batman, Wonder Woman’s character was left with a million holes right from her creation. Like all the earlier female superheroes, Wonder woman was hung up on a man. It seemed that was the central theme to all earlier women super heroes. The woman would have all of this strength and speed, but their weakness was always a man. For Supergirl it was Superman showing her what to do. Wonder Woman had Steve to be hung up on, and for Batgirl it was Batman. It appears that in the past, guys wouldn’t take a female super heroine seriously unless they were gushing over a guy.

Look how Sue Storm was treated in the earlier Fantastic Four comics! She was a weak, whiner always concerned with the safety of the Guys of the FF team. She was also portrayed as a house-wife minded home body, which enraged me to no end as a child. Also, it seems that female super heroes always had to have huge breasts and fight crime in high heels, another thing that annoyed me to no end and it always reinforced certain stereotypes about women in the minds of men and boys.

I read a comic a few years ago that dealt with the fact that Superman and Wonder Woman had been in some sort of sexual relationship that produced a female daughter who grew up to have the strength and powers of both parents. This new female super hero also was a lesbian who did not gush over any men…she was a different bird in the world of super heroes, but of course since her character was written by a guy, she had to be a total extreme individual on the other end of the spectrum who believed that she being an Amazon, was more superior than everyone else, and you can guess where that lead…

Wonder Woman could be a good movie if there’s a good story and character development behind it and certain seriousness is given to it like what was done with the 1st Superman movie, or the 2001s Spiderman movie. It could also be a good movie if she isn’t forced into some role where men have control over her powers. Wonder Woman is not a traditional, brainwashed woman of our modern day society, she is an Amazon, and it’s up to the writers to point out exactly what being an Amazon means in the modern day world in which she lives. She comes from an Island which is populated only by women. What kind of person would come out of that sort of society?

Joss’s movie should be the movie that finally defines who Wonder Woman is. The fact that Joss is good with female heroine creations makes him the perfect person to bring the wonder to the character Wonder Woman on the big screen.
