I was talking to my housemate about this and he seems to remember that Fox made Jos change the intro to remove the reference to guns. Seems like Fox execs don't like guns much. Does anyone know if that's true?
"Do not fear me. Ours is a peaceful
race, and we must live in harmony..."

That's the first I've heard of it. I know Fox doesn't like horses. In the commentary Joss remembers selling the intro to Fox by saying that the space ship was scaring the horses, so it was OK.

At the site refered to it has the intro monologs on all the episodes. It also has a different monolog on the Original Pilot by some nameless announcer.
Not so nameless...that's Joss doing a pretty bad accent.

"...we're still flyin'."
"That's not much."
"It's enough." Malcolm Reynolds and Simon Tam - Serenity

It sure sounds like Joss to me.
I don't ask for much - just Firefly back on the air once a week.... oh, and maybe world peace.
