Here's a question-

If they're so desperate for programming that they're trying to make wrestling into SciFi, why don't they just put in real SciFi, AKA Firefly?

*shrug* Just wondering...

Mine is an evil sugar high laugh! Bwahahahaha!

Can someone repost the e-mail for the sci-fi channel?

Excellent idea. I have more to elaborate on the subject as well. Please read the whole thing, it will only take a minute or two. To everyone who reads this take my advice under serious cosideration. In my opinion the only way to get Firefly back on the air is to appeal to the right network. As we have seen, this is most definitely the sci-fi channel. I'm gorram serious when I say this, and we all know they are serious because of this marathon.
Next comes the issue of making it worth their while, after all they do broadcast shows based on public approval and ratings. I think the only appropriate thing to do is to let them know how much we love this show. Tp let them know the lengths we will go to to get this show back on the air. To show that we have to write emails, and preferably letters because they show our conviction more than typing up a couple of words and sending them via the internet. Letters take time, especially if they're written well, and the folks at TV stations pay more attention to them. Here's the address for the guy to write to at sci-fi channel: Barry Schulman Sci-fi Channel 1230 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10020.
I urge everyone who reads this not only to follow my advice but to spread word of the show to those who have not experienced it. Lend DVDs, have screenings, anything to spread awareness of the show and our cause. Also, spread word of this post and the actions I suggest to any and all forums possible so we may gather the full support of all browncoats everywhere, and to make our movement all the more important. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I'm thinkin' we'll rise again

Add their advertisers to the mailing list - tell them we'll buy their products if they support the show - just needs a few advertisers to comment on "this Firefly thing" to add commercial pressure.

Here's a response to my e-mail ref SciFi UK hosting a Firefly marathon like SciFi US

"Hi there!
Thank you for your recent message. I come bearing good news!
While we are not planning a Firefly marathon, we will be screening Firefly on a weekly basis starting in mid to late September.

The times and/or dates of the screening may change, so keep an eye out and stay tuned for more information closer to the time.

In the meantime, keep on enjoying the SCI FI.

Kind Regards
Duty Officer

SCI FI UK"

Please feedback our gratitude to Sci Fi UK using the feedback link on their website, oh and a request for a mini series wouldn't go amiss :)

Yes! That's awesome for the UK SciFi! I can just see it now- More and more people randomly flipping through channels when they have nothing too much to do...and landing on this amazing show, and getting hooked and then liking it so much that they join our cause!!! *gets lost in happy Browncoat daydreamds*

Never mind random flipping - hit the scifi feedback button and show them the fanbase the series has already and plug the need for a mini series :smile

This sounds to me like the guy writing the message may be a browncoat himself.

Is the biggest problem they're facing getting Joss Whedon and the others on the set? Because I know Firefly can't cost any more than Stargate Atlantis.

Probably more like the fact the show was dropped before establishing itself - imagine if Buffy had been dropped part way through the first series, do you think any other channel would have picked it up so quickly? I'm sure that at some point someone somewhere will be willing to invest in some form of new programming but by the time that happens either the cast/crew will have moved on or, heaven forbid, Joss and the Browncoats will have moved on, we can only hope that someone notices that the attendance at cons/shows etc both from fans and the cast/crew is still hugely enthusiastic even after such a long time.
