Thoughts on WitchBlade's second season

I dunno - WitchBlade might not qualify as a "science fiction" series. But I see a couple of posts about that in this forum already. So 
I thought I'll post this thread.
Before proceeding, this post and this thread will contain spoilers for the whole of s2.
I think they messed up in a lot of things
1. Killing Irons off - Bad move. It lessens the amount of time given to Cistaro on screen. And he was very good as Sara's opponent in s1. And it leaves Nottingham with nothing to do in Irons' pad.
2. Making the eps standalone - It's only a 13 ep series. If you consider the s2 premier as a 2-hour ep, then only 12 outings. There's a lot to do and too little time. Because of this, the finale didn't seem too appealing.
3. Nottingham seemed adrift thru'out this season.
I think they got quite a few of the "cool visuals" right. I think Consectatio comes to mind, with the visual of Nottingham taking off his trenchcoat in midair as he goes up against Mobius, as the coolest visual.
What do you all think?
