If you have seen the DVD's, then my mistake, and you are entitled to your opinion. But if the movie is made, give it a chance.
May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.
Ditto what CaptainCDC said.
It sounds like you had the misfortune of catching the sporadic, out of order airing of the episodes on the Fox (read F*#k) network. I would suggest picking up a copy of the DVD set and checking out the show from the beginning, in the order they were intended, starting w/ the full length pilot "Serenity". I think you will find it changes your mind.
Just curious.....if the show did not catch your attention, and it appears from your comments that you did not like the show from what little you saw at Fox, why then did you seek out a Firefly site and post? Just curious.

Badger looks very good to me. Why? Is that wierd?? Mark Sheppard is a good-looking man to begin with, and I love his whole look for Badger. The clothes, the half-beard, right down to the "very fine hat"
Finally someone I can relate to! Badgersgirl, I dub you my new best friend. (hehe, I have no life). Seriously though, did you see DEEP SHOCK? Mark Sheppard did well in it. I was cheering him on, even though I knew that the bad guy wasn't supposed to win. Eh, who cares? It's Mark Sheppard! He wasn't wearing a hat though. *tear*
Did you know he used to post on here? He sorta...stopped though.

It's nice to see I'm not the only one with taste!

No, I've never seen any of his other work. I'll have to rent that, and let you know. I did check out the website, and his Deep Shock pic was rather nice.

That's interesting! What moniker did he use?
Well, here's hoping to see our Very Fine Hat in the Firefly movie!

I think missing the first episode of the show gives you an advantage.
I myself decided not to watch 'The Train Job' when it aired, as the Fox promos hadn't made it look too appealing. However, the next week, I found myself watching 'Bushwacked'. I had little understanding of the charactors and plot, and was therefore playing catch-up the entire ep. I think that if I'd seen the Train Job, I may have attributed this to the show (rather than Fox), and given up on the series.
Nice with the brother conversion. So far, I've shown the entire seires to five friends, and three disks are currently on loan to a cousin, a co-worker, and a friend's mother. No one in my immediate famialy has seen a single episode yet, as the DVDs spend little time at my house!
A friend copied the dvds, and sent them to his brother in Cali, who showed them to several people. I've made fans on both coasts!
Anyways, uh, hi.

LOL! That's ok, I did find someone posting as Mark A Sheppard under the handle "VDODGY".
I rented Deep Shock, and I admit I wasn't impressed with the movie. But Mark Sheppard didn't disappoint.

PS - I read your profile, and I'm right there with you on Two Guys and a Girl. If Nathan Fillion hadn't been on that show, I might not eveer have taken note of Firefly.

I never thought of it that way, but I think you're right. If I had watched from what I would have assumed was the pilot episode, I might have figured the show for too confusing. As it was, what I didn't understand I attributed to the fact that I had missed the "pilot".

Oh. No. No, no, no. These DVD's do not leave my possession. (Much to my brother's annoyance!) I couldn't afford them to begin with, I can't afford to replace them!
LOL! Besides, watching them with him makes them fresh, because he's smarter than I am and he picks up on things I don't.Quote:

Shiny! I'm impressed!

Yeah. That was it. His profile on TV TOME was edited by "Vdodgy" too. I thought that was kinda funny.

I agree. It seemed to be a total rip-off of the abyss, but it was just a sci-fi made-for-TV movie, so what can you expect? I didn't like the fact that the good guys won. That sucked. Chomsky got smooshed.

Actually, I have a funny story about that.
Okay, I was WAY addicted to Two Guys and a Girl when it aired and even afterward. So then this show comes around called Firefly, and my dad is like, "Hey, Joss Whedon has a new show". I thought the premise sounded a little weird. I'm not into space movies or westerns, but I watched it because I knew Joss wouldn't settle for a crapjob. Then I see Mal. And I'm like "Who IS that?! I've seen him before!" And it drove me NUTS until the show was over and I looked it up on IMDB and then I started screaming because I was so STUPID not to recognise him.
Yeah. That's my story. I'll stop now.

Tell your friend s/he did it wrong. You are only supposed to make a copy of the pilot to give to people, then when they get hooked on the show, tell them to buy the whole DVD set! That's the only way to drive enough sales to bring Firefly back!!!

Good. Thanks for the update.
