Thanks for the poke, not sure if thats the correct spelling - haven't had that one before. Takes it with the hashi (chopsticks) and bows.
mochiron nyotaimori ne. Actually, dosn't have to be geisha or maiko. Could be any lady. I think your mixing up the two cause the geisha preforms ie entertains the guest but dosn't offer anything sexual to the guest. Diff type of lady does that. ie the Geisha is trained in conversation, music, and games. The maiko is a Geisha apprentice. Actually, the first Geisha were actually guys and eventually the job grew into one preformed by the ladies.
mata, Ookami yori

Geisha vs. maiko: un, wakarimasu. (That's about the extent of my conversational nihongo.) But from what I remember of the body sushi in Japan, wasn't it usually one or the other? IIRC (and I could be wrong) geisha and maiko would entertain at the tea-houses (you're right, usually no sex involved), as the "hostess" (no not the sexual type) while the men (samurai, buinessmen, etc.) did their wheeling and dealing...Geisha originally being men I never knew (although it makes sense in a way, men are the ones who perform in Kabuiki and Noh -- so by extension, yeah...makes sense).
...Yep, that's how we spell it in Hawai`i.
I'm tempted to bring out other pupus (appetizers), but that might be a bit much.
Don't want to scare everyone with all the strange sounding (but yummy) foodstuff.
ee, mata ato de.

Takes a lot to scare me culinary-wise, babe
Just you wait until PhoenixRose gets a sniff of that sushi...
Still stuck making veggie sushi myself, since I don't quite trust the quality of the fish I've been able to source as of yet.
