Well, tristan this can be very easy. Fireflygal sells lanyards and pins and apparently has a few surprises in store for us this year. She tends to spend a bit of time around the Firefly/Serenity fan table which should be set up by the vendors area entrance. and word spreads of what she has and people look for her. She may have some better advice on how things work. Also, the fan table tends to have some products available as they also do raffles, or have in the past. They may be able to pawn your wares there, just check back with them every so often. My understanding is the tables there are very expensive, and likely unavailable at this point for dealer's room. Best to go word of mouth by the fan table. fans from all the boards will go there. you might be able to leave a sample, and your # for interested parties to contact you, if you have a cell at the con. but best to check with folks at the fan table to be sure.
42 days until Thursday!
"I have been here many times before In a life I used to live
But I have never seen these streets so fresh Washed with morning rain
I have seen this face a thousand times Every morning of my life
But I never saw these eyes so clear Free of doubt and pain
Like the whole world has been made again."

Jadehand, thank you. That sounds like a good, solid plan. Now, all I have to do is squeeze in the time to make another 'coat!

Hi Tristan,
I'm running the fan table this year. We would be happy to help you out if you need it. We couldn't sell your wares from the table directly, D*C has lots of rules on what we can and can't do, but we would be happy to point people to you. That's what we did for Fireflygal last year and it seemed to work fairly well

"it seemed to work fairly well" is quite the understatement.
As I recall, she was often mobbed and ran out of stuff fairly quickly!
So yes, the Pointing You Out To People Method works well.

WickedWren, thank you very much! Do you also take stuff for raffles and giveaways? I'll be making several sets of buckles like those that are on Mal's coat, and will probably have a set or two "extra"...kind of a 'thank you' for the table's help? Would that be appropriate?

Tristan, no problem, I'm happy to help! And yep, we take stuff for our giveaways. If you do have anything extra, we will gladly help you out with that.
You are very generous. Thank you!

WickedWren, shiny! And thank you again! As soon as I get the buckles built, I'll let you know...not sure if it would be easier to mail them to you or just bring them with me...

Ahem, yes, worked well IS an understatement! I ran out of items on Saturday. But discretion is the word. You can't sell stuff unless you pay major coin for a table, so we can't be too blatant about it. Although I did sell some items to a couple of dealers who were Browncoats.

I'm not looking to cheat anyone out of coin; just wondering how the selling stuff to fellow Browncoats worked out. I got some good advice/guidance, too!

I am thinking about making another Browncoat and maybe several sets of the buckles for the Browncoat to bring to D*C. How do I go about selling them there? Is there a con-goers vendor price, or a table that sells on commission...?
Any suggestions or links would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Tristan, be sure to get some business cards made ( www.vistaprint.com) The cards you can put on the fan table, I believe.
