I would rather be sailing than be stuck in this suffocating heat wave.
RMMC- I think you're right with the whole suffering thing. At least I don't have to read Anna Karenina like my poor sister did.
Guy- You...lucky...homeschooled...duck.
I wish I could be homeschooled. I love learning, I just hate my school.
TPBM...
thinks Jubal Early is one of the most weird-in-a-bad-way people ever.
Mine is an evil sugar high laugh! Bwahahahaha!

Yep.
TPBM has an active fantasy life.
Morwen...that's why I don't miss school. Although i will say, I did like the Shakespeare we had to read. There was only 2 times I got to read fun stuff. One was a Ray Bradbury short story and the second...was a half semester class on Science Fiction. Got to read whatever I gorram well wanted to, as long as i wrote a report at least one page long. I ripped through a lot of Heinlein and Zelazny in that class.
Good luck on your book.

That would be me. I'm all about escaping reality & always thinking up other things I'd rather do & be.
in fact I came up with the following tagline the other day
"I'm not an idiot, but sometimes I play one in real life"
in thought of what literature teaches today. Last year my wife & I hosted a 16 yr old girl from Korea. One of her assignments in English Lit was to identify the character archetypes in the original Star Wars movie. Talk about having fun helping with homework.
ok so TPBM - has had a crush on one of the characters in the Star Wars saga.

Yep, on Luke when I was 13 years old.
OMG...that was almost 30 years ago! Now I feel really old.
TPBM is snickering (shame on you!
)

Nope, rolling my eyes and sighing. (Why do people start thinking they're old once they hit their 30's? I could swear up and down that I've finally reached the point where I should've been in my 'teens and twentys.)
TPBM lives in an earlier timezone than me. (I'm in Hawai`i so
.)

Yep, Eastern.
Hun, I'm in my 40's.
TPBM collects comic books.

Used to, not anymore (just no space to keep stuff like that).
Welp, you know what they say about being old -- you're only as old as you feel. (...and if you're a teacher, you feel really old when students start trying to guess your age.)
'Sides, "old" people aren't in their 40's...that's only "old-er." "Old" people are those who are pushing 90+ in my book.
*ducks*
TPBM likes sharp shiny objects.

Actually, yes.
TPBM is a swordfighter.

Not quite, although I did have to teach myself some basic "stage" sword-fighting for a play I was in called "The Pirates Curse" A Home-School Adaptation of Pirates of the Carribean. I played Jack Sparrow. It was very basic stuff since I was the oldest cast member & everyone else was 15 or younger.
ok so TPBM has been in some type of drama.
