I haven't donated for months, so this thread has been a timely reminder, thank you.
But a strange thing happened when I went to donate via Paypal... an extra amount (10% of my donation) was automatically added for Post and Packing. I wasn't able to remove it.
Anyone got any ideas how and why this happened?
I guess it may always have been this way with donations to this site and I've just not noticed it.

Sorry about that, BritChick. I'm not sure. Mayhap it's some sort of handling charge, but I don't remember them applying that to any other purchase types.
I'll look into it later today.

Back with some info, britchick. Seems PayPal charges the amount for their involvement in the transaction, much like a fee you get from an ATM. On this side of the pond, the charge is called "Shipping and Handling". Seems the handling part is what the charge is for.
Anyone have a similar experience with the Amazon link?

Ok, just donated! And that's a good idea, Hera, telling folks how FFF.net has had an effect on our life.
When I saw Firefly on SciFi and fell head over heels for it... I immediately got on line and ordered the series.
Then I googled Firefly and the first thing that came up was this wonderful place. I wasn't here one day and I already felt at home and wanted to stay, in fact knew I'd stay.
