River recs

What fanfic authors have you come across who write River really well?

It seems to be a rare talent, but for me it's almost essential to have a realistic River if I'm going to enjoy the story (I say "almost essential" because a really well-written story like the ones by ScrewtheAlliance can be good even with a too-sane River). Only about half of the decent fics I've read did a really good job of capturing her craziness accurately, and only one was able to take me inside her head in a way that made it almost make sense without diminishing the craziness of it. Unfortunately I don't remember who wrote that particular fic or where I found it, or I'd recommend it to others who feel the same way as I do.

I'm not necessarily looking for fics from River's point of view (although a couple of those would be nice), or even with her as the focus of the story. What I want is any well written story that does a good job of capturing her character in whatever part she plays. Thanks!

I'd like to see a good romance with River (not picky about the particular pairing), but that's not essential.

I think the most believable River romance I ever read with in GeekUSA's series.

Normally, I find River romances hard to swallow, especially with characters like Kyo, but he really made it work for me.

You might also try 'Have Wings, Will Fly' by RiverGoddess. It's post-BDM, but River does still have a bit of an oddness about her - plus, she has a chance to get friendly with someone not Jayne. There's more than a bit of cuteness to be had there, and I think the story's far from over, sooo...

Gonna be a bit arrogant here, but some of my reviewers have said that they like the way I write River. She's not quite right, but not totally dissociated. You could give me an opinion? Just a thought.

I write canon post-BDM, by the way. No Rayne, Jaylee or slash.

Mal4prez's fics The Fish Job and (sequel) Easy Tickets. Mal-centric, but River's written really well as a major subsidiary character.
