Thanx! It seems to be eaiser for me to 'grab' items from your posts and integrate it (as seamlessly as possible) into my post.

in a pure form, it can heighten the blood sugar level and increases the in-between synapse flow. A electroloyte would do the same ... makes it harder to lie.

Rowan's Move
SCENE: The Hara Cary Bar, where Thorne is STILL waiting but happily entertaining himself.

Now the fella at the bar is vandalizing that poor unsuspecting buddha statue. Gotta wonder what they put in the martinis in this joint.

The seven in the corner is a no brainer and the eight is set up even slicker. Moving around the table, she sets her feet right and bends over right in front of her mark to focus on the eight.

MARK: "So, after you're done taking my money, you got any plans?"

As the eight floats into the pocket, Rowan smirks and straightens. Slowly, she turns and crooks one eyebrow at him. Letting her gaze travel lazily down to his boots and back up again, pausing only briefly.

ROWAN: "As a matter of fact, I do."

Shifting slightly to her right, she bends down again. The Nine ball is just sitting there, waiting for the sweetest little bank shot. It's all just too easy.

Sending the nine ball into the pocket, she grins and reaches over to take the two 50-credit platinum pieces from the edge of the table. One is hers, kept on hand for emergencies such as these. The other is now also hers, and will provide something in the way of passage off planet. Someplace she needs to get to, and pretty gorram quick. She slips both pieces into the back pocket of her leather pants and turns to give the mark a parting smile.

ROWAN: "Thanks for the game, xin gan."

The mark is left speechless as he watches her walk over to where her cue case is, disassembling the two-piece cue stick as she goes. Slipping the pieces into the case, she snaps it shut and turns her smile back on the mark.

ROWAN (sweetly, a bit pouty with feigned regret): "Zài-jiàn qin ài de."

And with that, she moves toward the door.

OOC: Okay, I think I'm going to be having some kinda fun with this. The hardest part is writing in first person present tense. Not exactly used to that.

OOC I'm getting that. Now I have to see her play, I think. You know, I only went with 9-ball because I'm getting a little tired of Texas Holdem poker all over the place, I didn't know the rules of the card game in Shindig and really, professional Majong seemed just plain silly. I haven't played in years - I forgot how much *FUN* it can be.

I'll try to do justice to Jeanette, fellas. No worries.

OOC: Yup, she cooks - one of those many jobs she's had. she's one of those people who can throw stuff in a pan at random and it comes out edible, although she's got several recipes memorized too.

Thorne's move

As the drum solo reaches its crescendo, the Buddha shatters into a thousand pieces. Placing the chopsticks back in an inner pocket of his coat, Thorne spots the two asian chicks leaving the bar, and notes their amazing resemblance to Jeanette Lee, the seven-time WPBA champion and, later, first female President of the North American Federation, back in the 21st century on Earth-that-was. Thorne loves ancient history.

Idly, he wonders what's taking the Serenity crew so long to get to the bar, and then forgets them as he sees that the fallen fragments of the Buddha have formed the Chinese idiograms meaning 'you will engage in intercourse' on the floor. Later he realizes that 'intercourse' has more than one meaning.

OOC edit: "Later he realizes that 'intercourse' has more than one meaning." Oops, probably not in Chinese, but...

Book's move

Location: Infirmary

Book to Simon

"My past is long and colorful and we've got no time now for a lengthy rendition. Perhaps after our present troubles are sorted out..."

Book, collects the uncommonly brutal combination of drugs Simon has asked for, and they work together to prepare an extremely effective stimulant. Book hands the syringe to Simon's now somewhat reluctant hands.

"When he comes out of it, he might just buck like a horse right outta those bonds. I've seen men gain the strength of five. Maybe an extra set of straps?"

Book goes to a wall cabinet and removes some straps. He returns to the table and doubly binds Niska to the table.
