Looks like Drew Z. Greenberg ran into Hercules over at AICN and had a thing or two to say about the upcoming Firefly episode he wrote titled 'Safe'. According to Greenberg, the episode will focus on Simon, the resident physician on the Serenity and brother to River.
Also mentioned was a bit of info about the premier episode 'The Train Job' and the type of train the crew of Serenity will be robbing. Rather than a train that flies through space (i.e. 'Galaxy Express 999'), it'll be a train that traverse the planet. Not a conventional train, of course, that would be too Western, but one that levitates.

I was going to say "sounds like a maglev"
but those only levitate a few inches -- so on TV they'd just like a monorail. Perhaps something like the trains in Heinlein's Starman Jones?

I have to say, ever since I heard the title 'Train job' I've had this image of a floating anti-grav train shooting accross a kind of grand canyon type landscape, which always appealed to me! I never thought of it as a space train.... Either sounds cool to me!

Well, your vision of a train floating over a canyon strikes me as drastically cooler than the alternatives, mainly because it hasn't been done before. The question is, how do you stop such a train? Anybody remember the train holdup scene in "Bronco Billy"?
