That's a tough one. I had a girl that was really interested in me romantically, and would continously hug me and the like, but I didn't feel the same way and so I didn't reciprocate the physical contact. She kinda wanted more than a hug. But anyway, I didn't tell her I wasn't interested, instead I just treated her like one of my regular friends. She soon stopped calling and wanted to hang out after I didn't return the romantic signals. It kind of sucks because she's an awesome person, but I just wasn't interested.

NVG, have you thought instead of a small sailboat? Those are quite nice, too, especially at night with a full moon reflecting in the water. Highly recommended! 
To the females out there that use the "Let's be friends" line of let downs...this is worse than throwing us through the engine. It does it's job of letting us know you aren't interested, but it also puts in our minds that you see us as pond scum, and you are just trying to be nice. Just letting you know for future reference.

ok good to know Tristan...but here's the thing... how do you let a guy who obviously wants romantic things know that you really do like him and do want to be friends with him, but really really do not want anything romantic?

msg, that's the tough one. We are sometimes not the best on picking up verbal subtleties, so if you know the person well enough, this line would work..."I like you, and I enjoy your company, but I would really prefer not to have sex with you." I know that may be going a bit far for the normal person, but you would be amazed how well it may work. The reason I bring this up is that that very same line was used on me awhile back. It stunned me at first, but it worked. I was friends with this person until we went our separate ways. It was upfront, told me how she felt, and did not damage my ego at all. Try it, it might work. We males love honesty too, even if it does not lead us where we want to be.

NV-yeah like I said jetski bad..big butt bruises and all..plus the waves of cold water hitting you really make it hard to keep up enthusiasm, and there's that whole trying to steer some and not wreck...it's a lot to concentrate on:) Nice sailboat much better!! So I noticed you didn't post a pic in the faces to names thread...you should :)
EDIT- and have you considered horseback?? nice movement and all and horses can be self steering:)
