Emailed Universal asking about Firefly: The Movie, they responded with this:

Production hasn't been set yet for the FireFly based movie. So, no word yet on timing for the deliverables you are asking for.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Blast! A flaw in my plan. I started with 2M$ and the max 50,000 shares in Firefly cost under 1M$. Now I'm swimming in imaginary money and I don't know what to do with it. Should I short other stocks?

I looked to see if I could buy Adam Baldwin, Joss Whedon or Nathan Fillion bonds (starbonds), but no dice.

I bought Firefly and Batman: Intimidation Game. Should be interesting to see how I do.

I also noticed they make no claims about not selling my email address to spammers... should be exciting.

And did anyone notice how there's a project called Afterlife (the Sony one) that was co-written by Joss Whedon? I'd have bought that, except the premise sounded a bit uninteresting: a scientist's mind is transplanted into the body of a deranged killer. Eh.

"Afterlife" was a script Joss Whedon wrote over a decade ago, around the same time as the "Buffy" movie. It was picked up by a director about half a year ago. The script has been rewritten, but the basic plot remains the same.

Hey no sweat.

Buy stocks in Universal, the Remake movie fund, the new Buffy movie, anything you can find that Joss might be involved in and/or any movie that the Firelfy cast are in but not credited by HSX. (Alan Tyduk is apparently in I, Robot)

Other than that just play the game by buying whatever strikes your fancy and see how much "money" you can make.

So far, it seems that the "Outlaw" poster of Mal has received the best response from folks.

So since a guerilla style "wild posting" campaign ain't no good unless you're postin', thought I'd better just go ahead and some final tweaks on the design and get it ready for people to use.

Firefly can benefit from all the positive buzz and promotion possible to help assure the movie project... and we fans can do a great deal. So let's start posting and getting the word out there! Time is important, we really need to get some new action going for Firefly.

Again, the poster is just black and white, simple to print and copy. The poster is formatted for 11" x 17". If you have a wide carriage printer great. If not, then it can be printed on letter or legal size paper (legal is better, more detail), and then enlarged on a copier. The poster design can be put on colored paper for more impact. Golden or green paper would be dynamic, just make sure the color of the paper is not too dark or the image will not show up well.

I have posted a nice, high resolution file for the poster which will work well for PRINTING. This file is in jpeg format to help reduce the file size for uploading purposes, but still retain good detail. If you have a high speed connection, the download will go fairly fast. If you have dial-up, it'll take a while. So I've also posted a medium size file... not as much detail as the big one, but much better than the file meant for "viewing only".

If you don't have a fast enough Internet connection, or a decent printer, there are other ways to still get the poster printed. Many copy outlets can download files off the Internet for you and print them out. Just give them the link for the poster and it can be done that way. Shouldn't be too expensive, but ask first if budgets are tight.

Now these posters are meant to be used! They can be put wherever you've seen "wild posting" done. You can also ask permission to post them places, inside or outside. They're arty enough looking, plus there's that handsome western guy, that people should be okay about letting you post them. PLUS, you could start some very interesting conversations with people.

Have fun with it and know that you're spreading the word to those that needs it told! If enough of the Firefly Faithful can do guerilla marketing in many cities, who knows, we may even start getting some media buzz!

What? I'll buy stock in Universal, but forget other movies backed by Joss or the Firefly cast! I want them focused on the Firefly movie. Sorry Buffy fans, but you have, what, like 5 seasons on DVD, right? You can wait...

I also got a response, but it was a week ago. It was from a live person, it seems. My last line was: "Hope you can bring Firefly's amazing adventures to the screen -- soon!"
The response was:

"Thank You for your note, stay posted for any updates."

It's kinda positive, don't you think?
