I just think that the table etc remind me of family which is what Firefly is all about. Now I'm thinking about the scene from Out of Gas with everyone around the table laughing.
Makes me think I'll have to download Gimp and give it a try.

OK, so how do I copy the banner over into my photobucket account so I can use it as a sig? (I'm on gossi's board as well as here...)

Hey, BZ, nice to see you over here!
I don't know if it's right how I do it, but this is how I do it. I right click and save it to my computer. Then I go to my photobucket account and upload it to it. Then you just copy and paste the url followed by jpg into your sig line over here. Over at Gossi's board it's a little different. You have to copy the tag from your photobucket.

I can feel the signal spreading as I type...
Penguin, what program do you use for type? PhotoShop is very good with the type, as there are several options you can use to make it "strong" "crisp" "regular" etc. There's also layer blending options, like "drop shadow" and "glow" and stuff; doesn't always work on small type, but it can look very shiny. Plus I always try to make the color contrast well. If the type is no longer in a vector format (it's already been put in an image and flattened, in other words) you can't make it bigger without it going fuzzy. That's why layers are my friend.
I wanna hear more ideas now! I'm all excited!
I'll go work on an "ifs and maybes" banner for you.

Ok, the Browncoat Event thread for this is seeing some action, but I wanted to bring this one back.
I was worried it was burried forever! Google is a godsend.
anyway, check out the other thread for some nice banners with sketches, and thee are some avatars in the Blue Sun Room that are very shiny, plus some animated banners.
