Where should I get Firefly?

Hi everybody

I downloaded firefly a few weeks ago and fell in love with it, so now I wanna buy it, but I#m not sure where to get it.

I definately want to get it in english and spanish. And I'd prefer it if it was playable on my DVD player which is region code:2 I think (I live in germany). So I thought maybe ordering it from spain will do it.
If there are different versions of it I want the one with the most special features.

I also thought about downloading it, but then I've heard that they have some stupid copyright protection that lets you copy these files only 3 times (another proof that the film and music industry consist exclusively of morons).
and then I don't now if you can download it with subtitles and with a spanish audio track.

And last question: If I get the DVD how can I rip it into dvix or xvid or anything like that with subtitles and diffrent audio tracks? Cuz original DVDs are just horrible unhandy, slow and just inferior to ripped files in every way.

You've totally got me there! Spain should do it... probably. Ripping I'm not so good with. I'm going to suggest, though, that you post this question in General Discussion as there tends to be more traffic over there.

Well maybe a friendly mod could move it there?

I wanted to post here for a while now, but everytime I sit infront of the PC I just get horribly lazy :)

And the first 3 or 4 days after I watched the last episode of Firefly I was feeling to melancholic to post anything.

Ahh, that feeling we all get... every single one of us. It even attacks again from time to time and takes the wind out of our sails for awhile.

Well, thanks for the warm welcome... and the browncoat of course :). My realname is Tom and my nick is Onkel Cannabia. Since no special chars, space or basically anything besides letters are aloud in the nick

I had to write it like that.

Anyway, would be nice if someone could actually answer my question about ripping it. I might watch it on TV every now and then but I really prefer the ripped versions, cuz you can always watch the scenes you want to and acces every part of the series in a swift of a second with out beeing lectured about

copyrights.

Oh and about that food and drink you were going to hand me: I like good german beer, pina colada, exotic food and sea food

Well, I dunno about the ripping stuff, but maybe if this subject stays on top long enough, you'll get an answer. We mostly encourage folks around here to buy the series on DVD and the BDM too, as it's money in Universal's pockets and since we'd like to have more, we figure every little bit helps.

Seafood eh? We don't have much occasion to see seafood out here in the black.. but we'll see what FloralBunny and some of the other nice folks come up with.

Hmmm, Jossisagod used to make the best coffee...

Well I do wanna buy the original, I just wanna rip it from the DVD. I could probably find a way to rip it myself, but first of all it takes for ever and the progs are usually unreliable. And I want to rip it with multiple subtitles and audio tracks (english,spanish and maybe french or german if available).

Oh, and I'm actually one of those weirdos who don't like coffee

Well I guess I'll just keep posting nonsense - actually right now its more like chatting - until some1 posts an answer to my question.

Whiskey would be cool. I'm 22 but in germany you can drink with 16 anyway

Can't wait for the Summer vacations. I just love the sun and nature and skating and sleeping till 3pm :)
