Yeah...I'm OLD.
All those choices were strictly for ratings. Bea Arthur was in Maude which was in the top 10, Harvey Korman was a regular on the Carol Burnett Show, which was still going strong at that point, and Starship was big in the music industry at that time.What that thing needed was a plot and a decent writer.
