Being that I am very shy one-to-one, I would like little groups of people. My list would look something like this:
1. Nathan, Alan, and Joss
2. Cary Grant and Fred Astaire (of course there would be loads of dancing as well as dinner)
3. Jane Austen, Harper Lee and Dostoevsky
4. Martin Luther King, Jr and Abraham Lincoln

However Direct TV has some special going where the fans vote and they play the songs with the most votes in a free concert...you should check it out:)
No one is going to cover my shift. Plus the other side is that I couldn't afford it because they don't pay me enough. Rarg. I'm betting it's sold out by now.
*blows kiss towards Red Rocks*
I love you, Johnny!

Of course! But lets add Nelson Mandela to that 4th group. I think it would be so interesting to put people together who started a cause and those who took it up generations later. I also think it would be interesting to put Jane Austen with some feminist icons of today.

I should have mentioned Kevin Smith, too! I don't know, though, the man likes to talk.
I admire Miss Rowling, but I would not want to have her to dinner until the last book is out or I would end up yelling "Tell me what the hell happens, gorrammit!!!!!" every ten minutes.
Plus I love Anne Bishop. Does anyone here know who she is? She's a very creative storyteller and has a lovely darkness to her books. Also... Very Pagan.
Penguin, kudos. John Stewart. Yes indeed, very smart man. Love to have dinner with him, too.
I miss my Daily Show......

yes I couldn't be in the same room as J.K. I'd just have to take her hostage and make her take the last chaper of 7 out of her vault and let me read it...I need to know !! the suspense is killing me.
I choose to rise instead of fall- U2

Not in any particular order...
1. Joss Whedon
2. Alan Tudyk
3. Tori Amos
4. Patrick Stump or Pete Wentz (from the band Fall Out Boy)
5. Sojourner Truth
6. Laurell K. Hamilton
7. Bono
8. Angela Davis
9. Alice Walker
10. Eleanor Roosevelt
I'd add Adam and Nathan on to the list, but I'd like to do more than just sit and drool if I'm to be having dinner with them.

Let's see I only have a few minutes so not much thought went into this.
1.Nathan
2.Joss
3.Alan Tudyk Those 3 together would provide enough entertainment for a month of dinners. Of course drool would be served. Sorry Adam I only get 3 from Firefly/Serenity.
4.JK Rowling of course
5.George Washington
6.Abraham Lincoln
7.Ronald Reagan My all dead political group. If I had another pick I'd include John F. Kennedy.
8.Bono
9.Martin Luther King
10.Sean Connery just for kicks
