As the first 2 of these threads approach 200 posts, I've created a third to reduce load times and attempt to summerize some of the information released in the first two threads.

Dragon*Con takes place in Atlanta, Georgia US on Sept 1-4. Current Firefly/Serenity Guests include Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, and Alan Tudyk. There is of course more time for others to sign up, and as always, there's the potential for some to have things come up that require them to back out. A complete list of guests from other potential Sci-Fi/Fantasy interests and details on the Convention can be found here: www.Dragoncon.org

Sept 1-4 is a Fri-Mon con. Many of us plan to file in on thursday to secure event passes and rooms and begin sharing our time and getting to know our fellow Browncoats. We aim to misbehave.

My rents just gave the ok! I'm going to Dragon*Con!!!!!! (along with ILoveFirefly and AintWeJust) *sings a little happy song and skips around happily* Oooo, I gotta get started on my Kaylee costume!!!!!

*runs off, runs back, and squees again!* yay!

We'll be going down on August 30th, gotta book a hotel....I hope we'll be able to find one that isn't booked yet....is the Marriott the best to be in? or the Hyatt? hmm...the Hyatt is sold out...i guess it's the Marriott then. any D*C rates or anything? and is the Marriot ok?? what hotel are the panels in??

Well, considering I volenteered for the gorram parade and my costumes are close to complete, my dad can't back out of giving me a ride now.

But yeah, I plan on being there that Saturday.

Panels tend to be in the Hyatt, Shopping tends to be in the Marriott. Both are likely sold out now for months. You might want to check Hilton which is behind Marriott or Westin or Days Inn which are about a block away.
There are con rates, but that requires calling the hotel for reservations about 4 months ago.

The Hyatt is more or less the main hotel up front on the main street where the parade will be. Marriott is Directly behind it. Police tend to moitor and direct trafic for us at the area between for easy crossing of the street. there's also a connecting hamster tunnel over the street. The Hilton is directly behind the Marriott and is the main hotel for Gamers. I believe the main site www.dragoncon.org states the games(Role Playing/Collectable Card Games) will be there this year. Westin and Days Inn are about a block each from the Hyatt in different Directions. so it looks something like this:

Days Inn
There's a reasonably priced diner at the Days Inn and 'Beverage' shop between the Hyatt and Days Inn.
