I'm sorta kinda taken aback by the "will of the people" on this thread--reminds me of a past life I lived in Salem, Mass a couple hundred years ago. This is not the place for censorship and ostricization. And why scapegoat such an easy mark? Has he really succeeded in driving folks away? Shame on you for letting his actions control you like that!

I hate 'a' say it folks, but it wouldn't bother you if it weren't just a teensy bit true. No, it wouldn't! You'd all just dismiss him and scroll on by. Yes, he can be nasty and some of his oppinions are pretty objectionable, but golly, they're nothing compared to some of the very mainstream hate we've seen on this board. And not to get too fanboi sentimental on y'all--but gorram it!--PN obviously loves Firefly and Joss Whedon! He's a Browncoat whether you like it or not!

That said, I do like SoupCatcher's idea about posting links rather than filling up the threads with pictures our little site can barely handle. Some folks here still have dial-up and the really long, picture heavy threads can take. For. Ever. To load. So how's that for a compromise: y'all can take off your silly puritan garb, and PirateNews can post more links and fewer pictures and WALLSOFTEXT? How 'bout it, PirateNews?

I don't think there's even a teensy weensy bit of truth in me being an evil baby killing homosexual Nazi, thanks HK.

PN shouldn't be on these boards, he should be in a hospital where he can get the help he needs and not trying to get Jews and other people he's decided are evil murdered.

I find the idea we should tolerate the mad ravings of an insane psychotic fasicst in our midst objectionable.

I hear what you're saying.

Let me try to articulate my peeve. It's like trying to have a conversation with someone while their kid is running circles around you, tugging on your sleeve, kicking your shin, asking you questions, and saying bad words just to get a reaction. Sure some of it might be cute, but it quickly loses its luster.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting PN's motivations for his long posts. What I see him doing is looking for a platform to spread his racist drivel. Racists, like telemarketers, use people's good nature to their advantage.

What I don't see him doing is looking to engage in a dialogue. He's delivering sermons. There's nothing wrong with that. But there's better ways to do it than to insert pages and pages of your sermon into each and every thread. Using the blog feature or quoting short excerpts and providing a link are both great alternatives.

If I wanted a sermon, I'd go to church (although I shudder to think about the congregation that would hire PN as it's pastor) If I wanted to read what PN thought about the British-Commie-aw crap I can't remember everyone involved-conspiracy, I'd go to his website. If I want to read what fireflyfans think about a particular Real World Event I come here.

I don't think PN should be banned. But I think SergeantX's original request is spot on. This is a community. One member of that community is engaging in behavior that detracts from the experience of other community members. A request to modify that behavior is perfectly legit. A demand to modify that behavior is not.

However, I think PN might see this as - rather than a diverse community with widely divergent view points - a fertile field to spread his manifesto and line up some recruits.

You guys really need to leave P.N alone for some who claim not to like his postings , they sure do be in his threads with something to say..I think you guys like P.N's post if you didn't you wouldn't constantly make him the focus of your topic. I defend his right to post, wether I agree with everything or not, it takes all types to make the world turn, thats what makes life interesting.

keep up the good work P.N I'm actually interested in what you have to say, and besides I like the effect you have on certain posters

You're going too far, the logical conclusion to your argument is closing down mental health facilities and prisons, hey if the inmates murder someone their just expressing themselves and this is a free society after all.

There are limits even to freedom of speech, if someone is standing on the corner of a road screaming at everyone telling them Jews are evil and must die and threatening random passersby then frankly they have stepped over the line of what you can reasonably expect anyone to tolerate.

You're not advocating allowing PirateNews his right to free speech, he already has that on his website, you're advocating that in a free society we should all invite him round to tea.

Lest you forget while defending PirateNews's rights: we all have rights to you know.
