Yeah, made me wince too. one hope thea was red paint they used.

Gotta love the outtake scene tho, where Mal storms onto the scene telling everybody to put the bodies on the front of the ship with Book in a place of honor. The part that makes me think Nathan has an especially twisted sense of humor is when he tells 'Kay' to go find that boy that's sleeping with baby Jesus so they can use him as a hood ornament then yells for 'Jane' not to steal too much of their....stuff.

Don't put your head back down!! You're a Browncoat just by virtue of loving our beloved ship. You need your 'coat.....

*hands Stormfalcon70 a browncoat*

There, you gotta have your 'coat! Welcome home!
Don't be a stranger.. you belong in this family now.

You know before I saw Serenity I never thought of machines or ships as beautiful. It wasnt until recently when I was watching the BDM and I watched her soar through all the Reavers and Alliance ships that I loved watching her. I loved the way she gracefully maneuvered through spaces and space. I realized I was looking at her as when Mal looked at her for the first time and fell in love. Of course, I winced when she made that hard landing. I am trying to make a cross-stitching map of her so I can cross-stitch her and put her on my wall. My husband thinks i'm nuts! I wish there was an actual ship (one that cant fly of course) that we could go to and go inside and take pictures and pretend. If I had lots of land I think I would probably try to build one.

I'm so into Firefly, my butt glows in the dark.

Yay for de-lurking!
You don't wanna spend all your time just doing this anyway:

Having just finished re-reading the third book, I have to ask if Oddsbodkins is a Harry Potter reference?

Okay, to be perfectly honest, Serenity herself actually took a little bit to grow on me. I remember watching the commercials for Firefly, during the hype right before it first aired and thinking "Smeg, but that's gotta be the ugliest ship I've seen in a good long time!"

'Course, now I'll defend her honor against anyone with the gumption to say anything bad about our favorite ship, but much like the theme song, it took a bit for it all to sink in, I think.

Actually, I still find her a bit lumpy and awkward-looking. But in a good way :) She ain't built for looks, after all. Kind of a "only a mother could love" sort of ugly. She ain't got much flash, but she'll get you where you're going, 'cause the getting there's the greater part :)

Like a certain other ship; she may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts.

I remembered it from Shakespeare...

That's a pretty cool screen name. Ahh, a literary soul...
