Which films make you cry?

The ones that hit me the most is

1) Saving Private Ryan, in the beginning when Ryan is walking through the graveyard.

2) Forrest Gump when Forrest is talking to Jenny at her grave.

3) "The Message" on Firefly, that whole recording hits me every time, never fails. Also at the end of the show when Zoe and Mal are carrying the coffin outside Serenity, and when they put the camera on everyone individually. You just know that the show's over at that point. It was the final episode that never aired.

4) And of course Serenity, at the end at the memorial for Book, Wash and Mr. Universe. Does it to me everytime.

Uhh, honestly the only movie that makes me get misty is the Charlie Brown Christmas Special.
Sorry. (I did come verrry close though during the Mal/River endscene in the BDM though.) Oh, and I have cried over a few books, but they are not movies.

Movies that make me cry are my favorite so...
1. Titanic, of course
2. Moulin Rouge- I cry every time and I've seen it at least 20 times (also in my top 5 movies of all time)
3. Romeo and Juliet- Baz Luhrmann version
4. Serenity
5. Stepmom
6. Someone else did a tv show so- Angel season 5, Buffy finales- Angel season 5 has 2 or 3 absolutely amazing episodes that get me every time. Joss is just awesome like that.
7. Edward Scissorhands
8. Finding Nemo (long story)
and many others but those are the ones that stick out in my mind and never fail to bring tears to my eyes. Now I want to go watch one!

Out of Gas - Where do I start?

Braveheart - I didn't cry, but I did get a little misty.

Okay I'll bite.

If any of you can watch the scene where the Katie Nolan is giving birth with the aid of her daughter, Francis Nolan, in "A Tree Grows In Brooklin", without falling apart then you are cold. Or I could be an old softy. But I have watched this scene more times than I can count and I still cry. It even beats "It's A Wonderful Life" on my cry-o-meter.

The Iron Giant actually made me cry during the movie and afterwards aswell, my husband started to get concerned when I was still crying at home. Its just a very nice and moving story.

I love crying at movies! The movies that get me usually involve kids...

1. Terms of Endearment (when Debra Winger says goodbye to her boys to the end)
2. Kramer v. Kramer (when Dustin Hoffman has to explain to his son why he's going to live with his mother)
3. Eight Below (my 5 yr. old daughter was sitting on my lap crying, what could I do?)
4. Steel Magnolias (when Sally Field falls apart at her daughter's funeral)
5. Shadowlands
6. Breakfast at Tiffanys (had seen it many times, but for some strange reason cried at the end when Audrey Hepburn is looking for that damn cat around the sixth time I saw it)
7. The Champ (the first movie I remember crying at)
8. Serenity (had a delayed reaction to that particular scene and cried during credits - still can't watch that particular scene without my hands to my face)

Well I haven't actually cried since Bambi when I was a little kid, but movies that have brought me to the verge of tears:

Serenity-figured I'd get this one out of the way

Armageddon-okay, I was young and it seemed touching

25th Hour-during Monty's dad's monologue

Band of Brothers-all the episodes are great, but the part in the documentary about serving in the company of heroes was tear-jerking

Blow-George's tape recording for his dad

Gattaca-just the end I guess

The Thin Red Line-the end again

That's all I can think of right now. Oh, I know Forrest Gump was already mentioned, but I find myself almost crying when Forrest asks if his son is smart, or like him...gets me every time.

Your mentioning of "Bambi" brought back memories.

It was the only film where I cried in a public place -- I was about 5 years old. And I didn't cry where one might think it would be normal to cry (when Bambi's mother was shot), but at the very end of the film. It was then, when I saw Bambi with his wife and family (but not his mother) that I realized the permanance of the loss, and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

Other than "Bambi", though, nothing bothered me as a child. I'd watch the most horrendous acts of violence, and not bat an eye. Even real-life attrocities like the holocaust didn't disturb me when I was younger, but now I can't watch any realistic war film without becoming disturbed. One would think that a child (or younger person) would be more easily disturbed, not an adult. With me, it's always been the opposite.

Anyhow, as an adult, the one film that gets me every time is "Ben Hur".

Like others here, "Pvt. Ryan" also hits a soft spot. I also can't help but be moved by "A Tale of Two Cities" (particularly the Ronald Coleman version). Some others that have touched me over the years include: "It's A Wonderful Life", "Decision Before Dawn", "Glory", "Little Boy Lost", "How Green Was My Valley", "Angels With Dirty Faces", "Tomorrow Is Forever", etc.

Virtually any realistic tragedy/war film disturbs me these days. (I can't explain it.)

Anyhow, those are just a few which come to mind. I'm sure I could think of many others, if I had a comprehensive list in front of me of everything I've ever watched.

EDIT: Oh yeah. Thanks, Traveler. How could I forget "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn"? Films like these are why I prefer ACTION and COMEDIES anymore. There's so much sadness and misery in reality, that I find it rather foolish to purposely pursue it in my "entertainment".
