But in all seriousness, it oughta be "Serenity: (Subtitle)". I think a 2 would just cheapen the title.
And I think a second Civil War is totally the way to go, especially with the Alliance's big secret now out in the open. But that's just me.

Well, let's go with the peace angle. After the events of the first film, the public at large is out for blood against the Alliance. They want civil war so bad they can taste it. So it's up to Mal and his crew to do everything in their power to keep that from happening. Which would really put Mal at odds with himself, because at that point he's basically defending the Alliance. It's that thin like between preventing war and supporting your enemy.
I think if Joss worked a story like that just right, it would make for one (or two) great film(s).
Oh, and I got another joke title:
Serenity: Beyond Thunderdome
That's it, just remake Mad Max 3 but instead of Mel Gibson just insert the crew of Serenity.

Why does it have to have "Serenity" in it? This wasn't "Firefly: The Motion Picture."
And it's not without precedent: Chronicles of Riddick wasn't labelled Pitch Black II.
And technically, it's not Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2, it's PotC: Curse of the Black Pearl and PotC: Dead Man's Chest.

Requiem (As in, for those who didn't survive the first one. Mysterious pasts come to light.)
Independance (There's your second civil war.)
Fractured (With the serenity she gained in Serenity, River delves deeper into her mind, determined to find out and categorize what else is in there.)
