I decided since it was my idea, maybe I should spearhead it. This is just one more eensy-weeny project to spread the signal.

Here's the plan:

Spread the Signal through fanfiction channels by writing Cross-Over fanfiction; Preferably the BEST cross-over fanfic we can manage!

Here's what's needed- AUTHORS to write Firefly/Serenity cross-over fanfic for as many different canons and universes as possible.

We'll disseminate through-out fanfiction sites, hopefully getting a few people to click, read, and say "WOw, this is fun stuff. Who is this "Malcom Reynolds" and where can I get more?"

Now, before you jump in with "GAG! CROSSOVER" let me say that I am, two years running, the winner of the Highlander Fanfiction crossover contest, and this year my entry actually got readers to go out and buy Lilian Jackson Braun's Cat-Who books. Write it well, and they will come!
(And if you write erotica, they might do it literally.)

HUGE fanfiction fandoms exist for Buffy, Harry Potter (like to see someone take THAT on!) Inayusha, Lord of the Rings, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, X-Men, Stargate, Lost, Farscape, etc. But I don't care what fandom you choose to cross, or how you want to do it!

So, Write with me, purty please with sugar on it!

How about someone explain how Serenity got on Caprica in the BSG mini series? THAT would be intersting.

(Wash gets lost, or perhaps our BDH need to go toaster shopping perhaps )

I'm definately in my friend! I've got the crossover fanfic bug bad!

Sadly I've sworn off writing anything but my massively urgent project for the next 3 weeks but then I shall take on any and all challenges, giggling manically whilst I do it!

PS where can I read this award winning Highlander fic? Enquiring minds want to know!

hey you,
just wanted to say i think this is a great idea,( although crossovers not generaly my sort of thing) and im really hoping to see more SS (Serenity Sumer) projects appearing soon.
the comptition/prize thingy idea, is also great.

There really should be an awards system for allFirefly fic's kinda a hugh reckonized thing with awards for different generas (action/romanace/comedy/canon/noncanon/slash/au/CROSSOVERS etc)
Im sure i heard there was such a thing, but that it has since faded into the black never to be heard from again.
so.
This is my plea for some one to re-ignite ffffawards, hey it could even be worked through this site, (given correct permission and such)

Hmm idea's bubbling away now, maybe it could be worked as a ss project...

Ok so anyway

Well there were the Strawberry awards but I was a) dissapointed in the very few fics nominated for the crossover section and b) very upset that the site didn't seem to be well constructed. It was hard to navigate and it wouldn't let me place any votes. I've not heard any winners announced. Seems like a great idea that's fallen into inactivity.

I'm a huge Potter fan, and I'm a decent writer, but I have... NO idea... how that would work.
The only successful crossover fic I ever wrote was Sliders. That has a built-in way for the characters to get into another world, so it was easy. I've never been able to work any others.
