My thoughts on the Boston screening of the BDM and on Equality Now.

Not real good with words - Don't use them much myself. But I'm here to say that my first experience with a CULT viewing of any film ever was the MOST enjoyable time I've ever had in a movie theater, even including my long ago teen years in the back row. I join DONCOAT (please see his post) in a JAYNE HATS off to the NEW ENGLAND BCs and Equality NOW for organizing this special event. Not gonna say all the gushing things about Joss, Serenity, Firefly and the BDHs' here, don't need to repeat. You know them all or you won't be here reading this post.
But still I just have to say that it was surely a fine thing to see that beloved ship sail across the big screen once again - that never gets old!

Please forgive me but I feel compelled at this time to remind everyone that Equality Now is just a group of people that have taken on the dirtiest end of the dirtiest stick there ever was in human history, and they just took it. And that's something. If you went to the screenings or not be a real Browncoat, send them a buck or five, support them. Think of all the cultures all around the world that either permits or forces one half of the human population into an existance that you would not tolerate. It happens even in enlightend countries that have laws against it. Be a real Browncoat. Do it.

Did anyone go to the Albany one? I didn't get to ask if anyone from here went...

Honestly, it was almost better than seeing it the first time around, cause the Palace had a better sound system. Surround sound, man! It was great. All hail the Browncoats!

Glad you had such an amazing time, MakesUsMighty, and they did take that stick, didn't they? Thanks for bringing it back to one of the reasons why we did this.

I was at the Charlotte screening, and we had a great time! About 150 fans, some absolute newbies as well as old Browncoats. In fact, a young couple traded their MI3 tickets back in to come and watch Serenity with us!

We had a local newspaper reporter, who is also a Browncoat, to draw names for the raffle, but I didn't win anything. I did get some video of the drawings, and the whole theater saying "Happy Birthday Joss!". I also got some video of the fan table with CallMeSerenity, Ash and Jadehand handing out tickets and selling T-Shirts and the like.

I got to see some old friends from the North Carolina Big Damn Movie Premiere Party last September 30th, and meet some new fans/flans/Browncoats. I wish I could have hit the pub afterwards with others, but I was there with my son, and he's 13 - a bit too young for pubbing! There was talk of meeting up at DragonCon this year, so here's hoping!

lioness didn't do justice to the description of Toronto. here's the highlights: serenity up on the big marquee outside gave me chills. charming theater, great crowd- atmo was fun but respectful everyone laughed at all the right places, people were quietly singing the fruity oaty bar song (but i was the only one singing firefly at the end of the credits that i heard). tons of great fan tshirts. raffle- I won! they did it really well- simple and quick. they organized a big dinner for everyone who wanted to go afterward. thanks for all you did lioness! great time was had by this rochester browncoat and her husband! i agree with another person- seeing it up on the big screen again was incredible. after watching it for so long on the small screen... it took my breath away. oh and the joss speech at the beginning was awesome.

Well shucks, Mima, thanks! Did you come to the dinner afterwards? 'Cause I'm sorry that I didn't talk to you if you did. Unless I did and was just to tired to notice!
I'll post the video including the shout out to Joss once it is done. Our videographer is busy making up something else for a panel we are doing at the TT20 con this weekend. "Serenity: The things that made you go oooh!"
And I was singing the Firefly theme at the end as we rushed to get the door prizes out! But quietly.
