Not such good news on my front Browncoat faithful. My loving wife, apple of my eye, the Inara to my Mal, neglected to somehow secure us a room at the Hyatt. She thought she had and even told me back in after the first of the year that she had, but it appears she neglected to save the booking so it never happened.
Well, as you most likely know, the Hyatt is sold out, as is the Marriott and the Hilton. I really don't want to stay in a hotel blocks away and have to schlep all of my gear around. So, thing ain't going smooth.
My wife is a guest of the Con (she is a guest judge for the Miss Klingon Pageant every year) so she has sent emails off to Eric and the DC staff to see if she can get them to pull strings to get us a room at the Hyatt or Marriott.
Did I mention I love my wife? And that she will never be allowed to make plans for my Dragon Con vacation ever again?

Serenity: Ath Isn't on the list here only because he hasn't stated within these threads that he was going. Iwas pnly tracking those that announced it here. I know there are others going. I'll add him.
Browncoat1: Ouch, there are a couple of places nearby that wouldn't be too bad. Westin is less than 2 blocks, but hopefully you can get it worked out with your contacts.

Yeah, I looked at the Westin, but the rate is a good bit higher than the Con rate for the host hotels. I'm not too crazy about the two block walk in the wee hours of the morning when I am stumbling back from a room party either. Got the wife to protect and all, and the homeless are relentless at night with the panhandling and all.
We got an email yesterday from a DC staffer saying they are working on finding us a room now. Hopefully they will have something for us. I'll keep you posted.
