Not exactly on topic, but just seeing the name of this thread reminded me when I saw commercials for the BDM back when it first came out.
The whole space with Chinese stuff (not much was made about it being a Western in the commercials) theme really irked me. I probably had the most negative reaction out of anybody who ever switched their colors to Browncoat. If I remember correctly, it was something along the lines of, "That looks like the worst movie EVER made."
Then seeing it for the first time... I don't think I've ever had emotions this jumbled. It's like I want to tear my teeth out just because I don't know what else to do.
Anyone who's not had the pleasure of seeing this movie in theaters, I urge you to do so this time. In all honesty, I might be in jail right now if I had never taken the time to see it out of boredom.

They say I am a sinner and seducer, they try to put the blame on me, but I don't give a fuck for the way they see
Stand up and you'll win, surrender and you'll lose, it's heads or tails, you have to choose.
Heads or tails, which way will you choose? Die or live, surrender or fight? Wild and free, together we'll stand, strong and proud, we will claim our right.

Zoe: Planet's coming up a might fast.
Wash: That's just 'cause I'm goin' down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all.
Mal: Well, if that happens, let me know.

My first time seeing it on the big screen too! I only saw the BDM for the first time this past winter ,though I was pretty much hooked from the start! I'll be in Boston for that screening and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Well, since I lost count of my theatrical screenings sometime in early December, I can hardly be called a "virgin".... But I am SO looking forward to seeing the BDM again on the BDS, both in Chicago and Milwaukee. *With* other fans, which is the main thing.
BTW, Chicago is this [holds thumb and forefinger microscopically far apart] far from being a done deal. We've got our theatre booked, just waiting on confirmation of a print.

Chicago and Milwaukee?
Yay! I am planning on going to Chicago and Milwaukee too. Well, assuming Chicago does go down (and I am being hopeful). Shiny!

(Disregard the "unconfirmed" if it's still showing when you visit -- the owner of the site just hasn't had a chance to update it yet.)

I missed the BDM last fall due to the PTA and child sickness (damn viruses). Can't wait to see it on the big screen. My 7 year old and I are headed to Albany, NY on the 23rd!

Mal:We're still flying.
Simon: That's not much.
Mal: It's enough.
