Actually no and no. The Master adn Commander books are on the list as a possible thing to read if I find myself with the time and resources to start reading a lengthy series of books after I've read a couple other lengthy series of books that are also on my list of things to read sometime.
I picked up the shanty from Jaws as has been previously noted. Also heard in Jaws:
Show me the way to go home
I'm tired and I wanna go to bed
I had a little drink about an hour ago
And it went strait to my head
Which isn't a shanty but is faintly piratish maybe.

If you liked Robert Shaw in Jaws, see if you can find a copy of Swashbuckler in your local video rental. Shaw plays the pirate captain Red Ned Lynch with a very young James Earl Jones. It's very piratical.
